I'm happy for Nintendo. Even though the Switch 2 has received so much hate just to bring it down, it hasn't won. Even though some are saying they'll boycott Nintendo, it hasn't affected sales. Especially now, with word of mouth that the system is good, demand for the Switch 2 will definitely increase more.

Sales translate to support. I can't get my head around the fact that so many people are not able to understand this. Sales are not (just) a fanboy thing.

It's normal to Care if the console you just bought is selling well. This means it probably will receive a lot of Games in the future and won't be discontinued in Just a few years

The article clearly says sold. If it were shipped, it would say shipped.

Nintendo had been saying the last year or so that they would be flooding stock so that scalpers would not be an issue. They've followed through with their word. It's not cutting edge tech, so it's been easier for them to sit on stock for a while until it accumulated to a massive number available to be shipped.

Companies often use shipped and sold interchangeably. Regardless of what it is, supply hasn't been an issue at all.

And yes, just as Nintendo said they would, stock is plentiful. That's why they're setting such records. The demand is high & the stock is there to match it. It was a very smart move.

Good for them, I'm still not buying.
Looks to be a pretty safe and boring upgrade over Switch 1 which I don't think they can top it on how plain looking it is design wise.
Shame since Switch Lite showed they still know how to make a handheld that looks good and is actually portable in a classic Nintendo sense.
That's why I got one over Switch 2's block of charcoal.
Then there's the prices of it all and the whole Key card thing destroyed any sense of game ownership.

Unless they drop the prices and actually has a more portable variant that can also dock then maybe I'll reconsider but as of now, nope too big too boring and expensive to make it worth this early, not enough of its own games atm as well.

Who knows removing the dock capabilities would lower the cost of the unit pretty significantly.

The cost of the dock, reduction in shipping costs etc bug savings which will enable a cheaper system

The price of Switch 2 just got announced in Thailand, it will be 17800 THB or 548 USD for normal SKU and 19800 THB or 610 USD for Mario Kart World Bundle SKU.
Launch on June 26th.

Switch 2 is without a doubt worth the money. As someone that has been against Nintendo for years. This console is fantastic.

Just curious of why suddenly everyone's okay with paying this amount money for a system that only plays games in this crap ass economy.
Nintendo somehow makes it worse here with these bullshit prices in my country.
People cried over how expensive PS3 was, but it was also jam packed with everything cutting edge back then. Switch 2 came along and it's $450 doorstop if you're not gaming on it yet that's somehow worth the money?!
People buying Switch 2 in droves to just prove the vocal minority wrong as usual or they're some mindless drones that buys whatever hot and trending and guess what everyone's from now will pay more across the board because there's no checks and balances and everyone's a hypocrite when a new shiny toy releases, they act stupid and glossing over every criticism just because they happened to like the thing when it still new and honeymoon phase still going.
Wait 'till your buyer's remorse kicked in it's inevitable.
