A look ahead at what we can expect from each of the PlayStation Studios and their PS5 exclusives.
The PlayStation 5 was the best-selling console worldwide with 825,315 units sold for April 2024, according to VGChartz estimates. The PlayStation 5 has now sold an estimated 58.01 million units lifetime worldwide.
The Nintendo Switch sold an estimated 626,448 units to bring its lifetime sales to 139.86 million units. The Xbox Series X|S sold 208,110 units to bring their lifetime sales to 28.51 million units. The PlayStation 4 sold an estimated 4,334 units to bring its lifetime sales to 117.17 million units.
Still amazed how well the switch is still selling. The Xbox might as well be taken of store shells.
An online retailer has a page for "Resident Evil 9: Revenant Shadows' up alongside RE5 for the PS5, RE: Zero HD Remaster, and Code Veronica.
Probably the only games I'm excited for after seeing the Playstation state of play leaks. I'm glad I kept my expectations low.
According to Director Takayuki Nakayama, Street Fighter 6 balance patches will now be pushed from "time to time" instead of annually.
Honestly they should create a balance schedule and stick to it. "From time to time" is ambiguous and with the competitive scene booming, the last thing we need is NRS like knee jerk balance patches. I think twice a year is fair, half way through a season and then the start of the next season.
They are coming... just be a bit more patient.
Well there were 3 this year, Rebirth, Rise of the Ronin and Stellar Blade.
There was 1 in October last year, Spider-Man 2.
There are four we know "of", namely Wolverine, Bluepoint's new IP, Naughty Dog's new IP, and Media Molecule's new IP.
I think people are giddy because Sony is unusually quiet, but I'm expecting some news by June. Think a lot of this tension can be eased with one good showcase.
Gamers - There are no PS5 games, why won’t they announce stuff regardless of when it’s going to be released.
Also gamers - I hate when Sony announce games years before they’re finished and ready to be released. We don’t want cgi trailers.
I'd appreciate some smaller titles here and there to round out the gaming scene. While this year hasn't been particularly bad for 'new gen' titles, Sony's own studios seem to be lagging behind a bit. Most of their releases have been either cross-gen or remasters/remakes, and so far, there hasn't been anything from them this year.
On the PS5.
