I’ll confess. Even though I’m of an age where dial-up internet was a thing, and I would have to intermittently play my Game Boy on car rides in time with the passing streetlights, I can’t claim to be someone that was all too familiar with the phenomenon of late-night radio.....
Team17 has done it again! Killer Frequency, the horror comedy game surrounding a slasher terrorising a small town and it's up to a radio host to save the day!
VGChartz's Lee Mehr: "Like a late-night radio show, Killer Frequency is only as good as its colorful cast and scenarios. Fortunately, it has those in spades. While still falling into the narrative adventure/walking sim phylum, with most of those trappings in tow, Team 17 captures a mechanical nuance that syncs design and story into a hermetically-sealed package. Each individual element – setting, theme, concept, premise, etc. – feels carefully considered for its ultimate goal. There are some era-specific contrivances to make this radio show work, but it's worth the night of neon-drenched murder invading this sleepy town."
There's no doubt that Killer Frequency may come with a bit too much dialogue for some, and occasionally some bits do drag, but ultimately there is a great story found within; one that explores the twilight zone of late-night radio.
