VGChartz's Stephen LaGioia: "Aside from the lack of board games, solo-focused content, and new material in general, Mario Party Superstars very much excels. It's emphatically become one of the most appealing multiplayer games on Switch, and proves a high watermark in a franchise that’s been full of ups and downs. A slew of fun content, sleek presentation, QoL improvements, and solid online play make this a definitive Mario Party game. Being a sort of antithesis of the more unique, motion-heavy Super Mario Party, diehard fans of that game may be somewhat turned off by this reprisal, with its far safer approach. But if you can appreciate this one for what it is - a polished, fleshed-out homage to Golden Era-Mario Party - then this gem really shines."
The Mario Party franchise is one of Nintendo's most successful IPs, but the last two games have put the next title's success in jeopardy.
The last one on the switch was the best one I've played since the gamecube gamed. What's this about
Last one was pretty good, I think the next one should have more maps from the GC era though. The N64 maps are boring.
Mario Party Superstars is an excellent collection of past games in the series, but Nintendo Switch Online has rendered it a little irrelevant.
I'm sure the 2 people that are playing Mario Party Superstars are going to be gutted over this.
It wasn't meant to be a brand new MP title. It was literally supposed to be a greatest hits. It barely has more mini games than your average MP and far fewer boards. The existence of any other MP game from 1-8 renders MPS obsolete.
They really should do DLC packs for it, Superstars is neat and all, but there's alot of redundancy in the mini-games, they should have new boards/mini-games in DLC form. It's not like they don't have 8 other games to draw from, or even just create some new stuff. Look at what they're doing with the Mario Kart DLC, it's really all I ask for.
Some of the US Black Friday Nintendo deals include a steep discount on Dead by Daylight, Digimon Survive, and Mario Party Superstars.
Oh, man! I really want to like Mario Party games, but I've always found the CPU/AI to be completely unfair. I'd love to know your thoughts, guys!
