So much for all those Xbox Series S being the No. 1 system hot takes I was seeing over the weekend

solideagle894d ago

lol I think it was for US not UK?

VenomUK894d ago

These are incredible figures and is a testament to Nintendo's unique approach to publishing which it releases far fewer games than its competitors but they have a timeless quality so they keep selling years after release.

roadkillers894d ago

Just to hit on people who give GTA5 shit for being 8 years old... Mario Kart8 is 7.5 years old

jalutaja894d ago

Kudos to You, if You trolling.

darkrider894d ago

Available and most wanted isn't the same thing.... It wasn't a smart payed news... Funny to see a old kart racer smashing the brand new racing game.

jalutaja894d ago

Umm.. All digital console and physical software sales?
Some of You to deep in plastic box wars to see irony.

Orchard894d ago

The above is for the UK only... who don't really celebrate Thanksgiving... also it's physical sales only...

The article you are referring to was covering Black Friday sales in the US.

This is massively weighted towards the MK8 Switch Console bundle that is currently about. Every one of those bundles sold also counts as a sale for MK8 Deluxe. It's like how Wii Sports is classed as one of the best selling games of all time due to it being bundled with most Wii Consoles.

But yeah - 114K Switch Sold in the UK last week vs 26K Xbox.

VenomUK894d ago

Sorry friend but your information is incorrect. The Switch Mario Kart bundle in the UK includes a digital copy of the game and not a boxed copy so sales of the bundle are not included in these figures.

It's still classed as a physical product and therefore counts in physical sales.

The previous week it sold 15K units physical, no way it jumps by 6x when it's not even being price promoted. It even alludes to what I've said in the article quoted.

Unfortunately I don't have the corresponding BF week from last year but total sales for November 2020 were 66K.

thesoftware730894d ago

Why we only comparing it to Xbox sales?

Hofstaderman894d ago

Playing Mario Kart with the kids what a blast. So many tracks and racers, well worth the price of admission

mcstorm894d ago

Is this now the switches best selling game? If so have to give it to the game being best selling wiiu and switch game.

I know it's bundled but why would you own a switch and not buy this game?

XbladeTeddy894d ago

Because not everyone wants to play it. "But it's Mario"...SO?

It is in the UK.

Another? ANOTHER?

Is he honestly trying to make out like the last Battlefield was a huge success, not just as a game but as a live service game? I'm sure these guys live in their own echo chambers, they are so far removed from reality or they just like talking out of their arse trying to rewrite history.

Also why say such a tone deaf statement when you know the state of live service games at the minute and how many gamers feel about them. Bigging up the next BF game as live service does not give me any excitement or hype.

''is building ‘another tremendous LIE service’''

just_looken3d ago

This is nothing too new
https://www.eurogamer.net/e...

They had plans of a universe of live service games

Also these studios made 2042 there is no new massive team its the same team
https://www.eurogamer.net/t...

Well same team minus the seattle boys that were canned
https://gamerant.com/ea-bat...

This is all again same news different year but it seems very few remember what happened before covid.

At least they put car freshner trees up their asses to think smelling their own farts smells good at this point to be so out of touch.

RaidenBlack4d ago
