Value is subjective, though, I'd argue it's worth $300. Sure it's not the most powerful and is lacking in performance and power but it's still a nice machine and has some great games. While I don't use mine much I'm glad I have one for those games I can't get on PS like Monster Hunter Stories 2, MH Rise, Xenoblade 1 and 2, Mario & other 3rd and 1st party IPs. However, it definitely needs a performance upgrade more than it does just an upgraded panel to OLED. 2 cents

it doenst got oled from launch because Nintendo wanted to have even more profit. Games wise, it got many for their games, but this isnt want he is talking. This console isnt worht 350 or 300 or 250. This should be already at 199... this was launched at 2017 and already got outdated tech. Nintendo is the only company that got profit from hardware since day one!

my mate worked for a gaming website and everything nintendo related had to be positive.
reviews had to be atleast a 6 or up.

...and this is why Nintendo doesn't feel the need to give anymore than the bare minimum. People will praise them and throw money at them no matter what. They're held to a different standard, probably due to nostalgia reasons.

This is exactly it. A couple of weeks back, people were getting all excited for a Metroid game that is no better than what you would find from indie games on Steam.

The fanboys are so blinded by nostalgia at this point that they can't see that their games have been overtaken in quality years ago. Every single Nintendo game is overrated to such a high degree these days because of nostalgia. Zelda:BoTW is biggest example I can of when it comes to this. It really wasn't anything special, but because it's Zelda, it's rated as one of the best of all time. If that wasn't a Nintendo exclusive and it wasn't Zelda, that game doesn't get more than a 7 out of 10.

Must have thought vita was God tier on release and must have missed that review because no way in h is it a "great upgrade". If you said the screen was surprisingly an upgrade sure. But as a whole it's not worth noting as a great upgrade as sure oled is a upgraded screen. The system as a whole is exactly the same and the actual problems still persist of being really outdated now. It's like taking a mid tier phone from 2017 and putting a better looking screen, release it for $50 more in 2021 than it's original price and then a reviewer saying it's a great upgrade. It's absurd. If it was the same price, saying great is still crazy but atleast it can get some praise for being an actual upgrade lol.

Sorry I stopped reading when you said you can easily consider this switches model as a premium version.

Yeah, nah. Releasing another switch with just a few minor changes that Nintendo hasn't really done much to the users gaming experience like online to folders or what ever gamers being asking for and it's $50 more.

It's time to vote with your money and not give Nintendo a free pass. I still have my day one Nintendo Switch which i barely use.
