"Ziggurat Interactive (a publisher of retro-and-modern games) and indie games developer WayForward, are today very happy and excited to announce that the remastered/high definition edition of "BloodRayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites" is coming to PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch this Summer." - Jonas Ek, TGG.
WTMG's Leo Faria: "Am I missing something? I have always been told that BloodRayne Betrayal was a really bad game, one of the worst titles made by WayForward. But I’ll be honest with you, despite being a bit janky and a bit unfair at times, I really enjoyed it. Either this is a case of a underrated gem or the remaster fixed a ton of the original game’s issues. Whatever the case, BloodRayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites might suffer from some occasionally questionable gameplay choices, but it’s a great little platformer that’s perfect for fans of old school Castlevania."
Paul writes: "BloodRayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites is a game that is a lot of fun to play; it’s fast, bloody and violent, and in terms of combat at least is right up there. The platforming is where things take a turn for the worse though, and the sections where you are trying to keep her alive via pixel perfect jumps are extremely frustrating."
KeenGamer: "Revived and reanimated, BloodRayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites returns for the modern generation with bloody bliss! Developer WayForward is tasked with reworking their 2011 hack n' slash title to greater effect. Whether or not it succeeds may depend solely on one's tolerance for archaic touch-ups."
Okay, was going to say this better, but this is just sad.
Get that the devs love the character, that she deserves better, but if they've managed to get this multiplatform, it should look better than Flash game.
Is it too much to ask a proper sequel to the original series?
Why on earth did they waste resources on remastering this awful game. It would've been mind blowingly sick if they revealed a blood Rayne 3 instead.
