Actually agree with most these scores from Edge.
Would give Valhalla a 6.

potatoseal1243d ago

I'm playing Valhalla. I'm going to Platinum Valhalla, and yes it's no better than a 7.5/10

Just like Odyssey.

People still play casual games like AC?

Razmiran1242d ago

What kind of stupid question is that, casual games will always be the most popular

I can't agree with giving Valhalla a higher score than Miles Morales, Sackboy, or Astro. It's just more of the same with a ton of bugs and such. And what's with that review for The Pathless. That game is far from a 5.

potatoseal1243d ago

They have no idea what they're doing over there at Edge.

TGG

that's UBI's checks clearing my man. AC games have been launching in same sate with bugs/glitches. Even the completely unfinished AC UNITY got decent reviews. UBI games are more of a chore to play than actually fun. They are the Rockstar games of going for realism at the cost of fun. Also must give credit for their micro transaction in single player games

IanTH1243d ago

Guess that means Ubi forgot to send them the 2nd check - Watch Dogs: Legion only got a 5 lol

Promachos1242d ago

Ubisoft? realism? you can't be more wrong...

hagla1242d ago

I'm playing AC for the first time. I got Miles Morales and AC Valhalla with my PS5, so far I have put 88 hours into Valhalla and about half an hour into Miles Morales. AC Valhalla is buggy but it's a very good game IMO. I'd give it a 9/10 myself.

More of the same? Dude miles Morales is a glorified expansion

Are any of these even on Switch?

Nintendo's Holiday lineup is pathetic. Just Wii U ports because they know they don't even need to bother. Just sell old releases to new Switch owners.

MajorLazer1243d ago

Didn't realise Demon's Souls is a port.

PhantomTommy1243d ago

@MajorLazer

He didn't say port, he said old releases. And you can relax, I'm just poking fun. Demon's Souls is an excellent game, I know this because I played it 7 years ago.

Knushwood Butt1243d ago

I did say port, and I wouldn't know about DS as I haven't played it, but the PS5 has just released. Switch is coming up on its 4th Christmas period with Pikmin 3 and a Dynasty Warriors re-skin.

Mr_Writer851242d ago

@phantomTommy

"He didn't say ports".. .
Errmmmm

"Just Wii U ports"

Not that it's really a thing to bash The Switch with, the WiiU was abysmal so they're games that not a lot of people got to play and enjoy.

Astro's Playroom and Spider-Man: Miles Morales are both higher than a 7/10, but it's Edge so whatever.

NecrumOddBoy1243d ago

Yes and giving the Pathless a 5 is a joke. That game is incredibly good.

Silly gameAr1243d ago (Edited 1243d ago )

It's a lesser known game, so they think they can score it lower without any kind of push back.

Modern Games Are Getting Too Long

While there’s a lot to love about modern video games, there is one trend — particularly in the AAA space — that tends to grate: their length.

Games are coming out with too much fluff and side activities that are horribly dull. That's my main issue with all these open world games. Open world should be about exploration, discovery and wonder, not have some stupid 10s or 100s of boring activities spread throughout.

IAMRealHooman27d ago

100% agree
All these ubisoft titles, Farcry, AC, Ghost recon, boast huge maps, but with the same, 3 missions or the same base to clear 100s of times. Hour 1 of any of those titles is the same as hour 100, there big for the sake of being big, with the illusion of player freedom, where we really want depth and player expression.

Ninver26d ago

Give me a solid 15-20 hour engaging single player driven IP any day. Life's too short you dig.

isarai27d ago

I stopped buying overfluffed games like a decade ago. Cant stand games with the Ubisoft mindset of just filling maps with uselss collectibles and fodder. Make it mean something. Ill gladly take 1/4 size of the map and 1/10th the "content" if it all meant more, were more unique and greater affect on your progression.

Abnor_Mal27d ago (Edited 27d ago )

Well people complained like the world was ending when a few games were six to ten hours of gameplay. Developers listened and started making longer games full of repetitive gameplay, time wasting fetch quest and other forms of bloat. In doing so they were able to justify the high cost of a game being sold to the customers at seventy dollars or more.

H927d ago

Filler, it's like a 80 episodes show where only the first and last episodes actually matter

Inverno27d ago

It's been a problem with pretty much every modern AAA game all through last gen and this gen. God forbid you point it out tho because all these big games are masterpieces and people lose their minds if you criticize them. Death Stranding is a fetch quest fest, but people will die defending it cause it's a "masterpiece".

The 5 best games on PlayStation Plus Premium that make subscribing worth it

The PS5 is an incredible console, and if you're lucky enough to have one, or have just received one for Christmas then you'll already know there is a host of great games out there.

What you may not be aware of is that if you subscribe to PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium, you'll actually get access to a huge catalogue of titles to play at any time. Many of which you can stream without having to do any downloads. If you have a PlayStation Portal you could even play these titles from your bed.

Abnor_Mal108d ago

Damn the only one I’ve played so far is Miles Morales, although I do own Control and Rift Apart.

ChasterMies108d ago

Odd list. Where is Horizon Forbidden West? Ghost of Tsushima? Demon’s Souls? Returnal? And fun indie games like Superliminal? Where’s “A Plage Tale Requiem” and “Evil West”, the current PS+ Essential offerings?

Exvalos96d ago

Evil west is underrated I'm having a really good time playing it.

juniorpop108d ago

Like seriously? Those are games Extra Tier can get - so not worth upgrading to Premium
