XMNR: A senior VP at Capcom revealed on Monday that the company is in the process of re-evalutating how it handles downloadable content for future games.
"One such title is Dragon’s Dogma, where the decision to include some additional (but not all planned additional) game content for the game on disc was made at the beginning of the game’s development cycle as at the time this was determined to be the most efficient way of ensuring certain content was made available."
They will just say that then when the DLC download comes out for future titles, they will secretly add hi-res images of a c*ck and balls to the download until it adds up to a gig or so.
Lol I knew Dragons Dogma would be the same and thats exactly why I won't be buying it. Also they are going to re evaluate DLC. All that means is they just won't include it on the disk. They'll still rip out half a game like they did with RE ORC and charge 20 euros for it one month later.
What makes me sick is how from the start of development for their titles they are thinking of DLC. Seriously no wonder all their games these past 3 years have been trash. How you gonna deliver a good titles when from the start your just thinking of how to make more money from the players.
They say that since they only started re-evaluating last month, certain games will ship with on disc dlc because the have already planned it this way and are unable to remedy it at this late stage. One such game being Dragon's Dogma. I have a solution for your dilemma Capcom, one that I'm sure never crossed your minds. . .keep the dlc on the disc and make it free. You're welcome. Now your new and improved attitude towards on disc dlc need not clash with your inability to simply remove the content from the disc.
They should give out codes for that DLC if you purchase the game during the first week or two after release, then drop the price of the game a little but start charging for the DLC.
Well, why not just unlock that content, make it free. Then simply do DLC the correct way? Careful analysis should show they have methods which can be put in place.
A few days ago they forecasted the sales for dragons dogma. It was not very good. Meaning they have little faith in it....in terms of sales. So you'd think as a marketing tool - offering the on disc dlc free might get some positive attention for the game. Increase sales a bit.
Too little too late for me I'm afraid. I can almost understand some of it like with DLC costumes for fighting games but locking 1/4th of the game for like six+ months is taking the piss. Even if they take out their DiscLockedContent they're still going to try and squeeze every last penny out of their once loyal fanbase as they can so imho they can still fuck off in my eyes.
Re evaluating really now Cashcom i was a huge supporter to your games back then and im not cheap on DLC But only if its DLC that's worth ed which most of Cashcom games have not been IMO
Remember how much content PS2 and Xbox games had on disk? It was a thing called UNLOCKABLES that you get to earn in the game for extra content. Now the UNLOCKABLES for extra content cost money. It's a shame

There you have it...

AKA How do we get more DLC onto the disc?
if this is true, this is the beggining of the return of the old Capcom, wich would be great.
