Will the updates be Implemented into existing worlds or will we have to start a new world for each update?

Well the PC required you to start new worlds for the Adventure Update. So it sounds like you're safe for awhile. The next update only ads some features, doesn't really change much in the worlds, other than that clay issue.

The other I've noticed in my worlds that you seem to either get a map with absolutely no snow or a completely snowy map. I know this was sorted on PC but i can't remember when?

Snow biomes have been added in the (non-beta) 1.0.0 update, along the Ender, Nether fortresses, etc...

Considering its content, 360 edition's equivalent of PC beta update 1.8 will likely require a world reset (with a new biome generating system, underground mines and dungeons,...).

what is the adventure update? a major update in the minecraft update? glad to see support for the game. must mine moar diamonds!
