'ORION: Dino Beatdown' Review - Not So Clever Girls | IGM

In this world of strife and chaos, where petty arguments are often the cause of all mankind’s ills, there is but one constant, one undeniable fact that transcends human ignorance and unites us all as one race. That fact? Dinosaurs. Are. Really. Really. Awesome! And hey, you know what else is awesome? Futuristic space guns. Also awesome? Badass jetpacks! So with that in mind, imagine my awe when I first laid eyes on Orion: Dino Beatdown; dinosaurs, space guns and jetpacks together at last? The ultimate tag-team has arrived! Alone they are strong, but when this Holy Trinity of Cool™ is finally united under one banner, they become quite naff apparently.

Orion: Dino Horde Controversy - Let The Battle Begin

DSOGaming writes: "You see, it's easy to bash indie or small teams. And it's easy because you can damage them. You can destroy them. You can WIN. They do not care if other, triple-A companies are doing the same thing. No, indie devs can be easily taken down."

Lame how people use the same dinosaurs in almost every dinosaur game. And theyre all based off the ones seen in the Jurassic Park movies.

The song for the trailer was annoying.

It looks pretty great IMO, nothing fantastic but it's sure to be fun.

So why are people complaining?

It does look much more fun than the last dino shooter I played.

The article said people are complaining because they believed the sequel to be an update to the first game.

I guess if you compare the first game and the sequel you'll get your answer, or at least a better perspective of what these people see.

But like the article stated, the improvements justify the game being a true sequel based on the practices of current gen.

To me the real definition behind a sequel is the story. What I mean is if the updates consist of gameplay/graphics only, and no story exists then it really is just an update.
