With the recent announcement of the new Saints Row: The Third expansion pack, Enter The Dominatrix, fans were outraged. This pack was originally brought to the player’s attention on April 1st as everyone thought it was an April fool’s joke, however, now we have been informed that this is far from a joke. What THQ has is a game that they attempted to make every gamer love instead of having fans of a select genera stick with the franchise. Saints Row: The Third was intended for both fans old and new but in the end it has proven to be a bigger let down to people who previous loved the series, not to mention those who picked up their first Saints Row title as Saints Row: The Third seem to be getting a little burnt out with all the ‘fun’. What is it that drove the diehard fans of the series away from Saints Row: The Third and what is keeping new fans from continuing to love the game?
The wait for GTA 6 is painful, but for less than $6 you can pass the time with the overhated Saints Row reboot on your Steam Deck right now.
This was free on something at some point, so I decided to check it out. It's definitely properly rated.
Some of the biggest success stories in the history of gaming have happened during this generation of gaming. At the same time, some of the biggest flops in the history of gaming have also happened during this generation of gaming. To this end, a few games particularly stick out as, unfortunately, disastrous flops for those who made the games, sold the games, and ultimately, for many that played the games.
What a strange, short list. There have been many more games that arrived DOA, were never released, didn’t make their budget back, etc. Why cherry pick these games? Is this list based on the size of internet hate boners?
Skull and Bones gets my vote, at this point just completely remake AC Black Flag. If the Concord developers had made the game free to play, and toned down the in your face messaging via the mods and design choices, this game could have been serviceable eventually. I never understand why pandering to 5% of your audience and giving the finger to the other 95% seems like a good idea to these people. They never seem to learn. Disney has lost 1/3rd of its value and they keep doubling down on political messaging. I don’t get it.
Saints Row made its debut nearly 20 years ago, and while the game has aged its still worth playing on modern consoles.
Back when games had balls. Now they still have balls, but also lipstick and a dress.
🥲🥲 someone needs to buy this ip and watch dogs, give those franchises a proper treatment sheesh
First 3 games were great. Then 4, Gat out of Hell and the Reboot were flimsy in comparison. Aliens, demons and a weak reboot in terms of intensity made the games forgettable.
I really wish the series was more like how it was in Saints Row 2. i love the humor in the third and i ever love the game but the "over-the-top" stuff they got in it gets old fast :/ i want answers from the first games not a bunch of pointless bull crap lol
Is the DLC even worth buying? I've heard the DLC only lasts for 2-3 hours when they were supposed to be expansions.
Regardless I'm excited for the expansion.
I guess it was less story driven and more weird and wacky plots. Which were really cool, but they were more like Michael Bay.
Saints Row 1 and possibly 2 had heart. In this their like the Million Dollar man, perfect in every way yet its missing its soul what made it SR.
Does thq know the meaning taking a joke too far?
