Is Lucas Arts gearing up for KOTOR 3? KOTOR 1 & 2 Bundle coming this Summer

DSOGaming writes: "Ask every Star Wars fan about their opinion on KOTOR and you will most likely get comments such as ‘awesome’, ‘mind-blowing’ and ‘two of the best RPGs’. Should you be ashamed for not ever playing them? Damn right you should. But wait a second, you might be able to atone for your sins as Lucas Arts will re-release both KOTOR 1 and 2 in a bundle this Summer."

I wish they'd rehire Obsidian and let them finish Kotor 2

coolbeans4788d ago

Technically, all of the "dead code" containing more dialogue is there for the taking (look at Project Gikza). That could be essentially polished by any studio.

NYC_Gamer4788d ago

Kotor= the best Starwars game ever made...

Felinox4788d ago

Yes sir. Hands down. I dare say better than the movies.

Fylus4788d ago (Edited 4788d ago )

I would almost have to agree. I mean, KOTOR is like the legendary holy grail of Star Wars games.

@adamant, I also agree there too. Dark Forces was also freakishly amazing.

adamant7154788d ago

I beg to differ. Jedi Knight: Dark Forces has to be the best

pandehz4788d ago

Dark Forces was siiiick

That game was one hell of a ride.

Kotor is of course a great game but yea Dark Forces was truly something.

When I heard about SW:FU I thought they would make it like a much more updated version of dark forces with a new plot but dam lol I guess no SW game can match up to that.

adamant7154788d ago

The FU was the biggest letdown. Ugh. >_>

Jio4788d ago

It doesn't mean that KOTOR 3 is coming (as much as I would love that) it just means Lucasarts wants more money.

NYC_Gamer4788d ago

I wouldn't want them to even attempt to make Kotor 3....they would outsource it to some terrible studio like Obsidian and Bioware would just screw it up by making it too mainstream/casual....

DeadlyFire4788d ago

Obsidian did quite well, but they were rushed and cut a fragment of the game up.

Bioware is not Bioware. Its EA-Bioware. Get it right.

Well as for KOTOR 3. If TOR starts to fail which some say it might. Then a KOTOR 3 game would only strengthen the lore of SWTOR. So its a win/win if they do decide to go with developing it.

NewVegasTroop4788d ago

yeah i agree bioware totally...but Obsidian?! no way sir, Obsidian made kotor better with the sith lords and they are the last true RPG developers around, i mean, have you not played fallout new vegas? the TRUE fallout 3? exactly...

coolbeans4788d ago

One could be inclined to believe this re-release could be another focus test, like that of Shadows of the Empire basically was for the prequels. And stop killing my dreams!

If KOTOR 3 turns out true:

coolbeans = :'D

TheDivine4788d ago (Edited 4788d ago )

Oh man i loved Shadows of the Empire. I must have beat that 20 times back in the day, the boba fett boss fight was the coolest thing ever for me i was a huge boba fett fan.

I wish they would release a 360 collection of the Kotors. I really dont know why they havent made 3. The mmo is cool for pc folks but its not the same as the sp games. Make it happen Lucas pronto!

Les-Grossman4788d ago

If they did a bundle for the 360. I would buy it in a heart beat

Kran4788d ago

If they did a HD collection for PS3, 360 and PC, i'd buy it faster than the speed of light.

Great game, but the second was better. Especially on PC where you can use the unofficial patch that adds a lot of the content the didn't get to finish before release.

GaboonViper333d ago

One of the GOATS when BioWare were on top of their game, also has one of gamings best twists.

sci4me331d ago

It was one of those "wow-moments"

GaboonViper331d ago

Yes exactly, i also love Jade Empire which also had a great twist in a superb story.
