In today's society 8.5 = eh... not bad

rdgneoz34371d ago

Yep, a while ago even the 7.0's were still good games. Now its only good if it's 9.0 or above...

As for the game, looking good so far. Hopefully Capcom doesn't screw it over with disc locked content...

WrAiTh Sp3cTr34371d ago

7 and up I'll spend the asking price on it if I'm really interested. Anything below that, I'll wait for price drops...

Kevin ButIer4371d ago (Edited 4371d ago )

still wondering if this game is for you? just go and play the demo, im all in with this game, hope you guys give it a try too

grailly4371d ago

if it's not a highly awaited AAA game, 8.5 is a good score

pangitkqb4371d ago

I really enjoyed the demo. Glad to see this game off to a good start.

played the demo this morning and i loved it. the gameplay is really fun and i can see a lot of Devil May Cry type attacks while playing. I was really surprised because i am not an RPG fan.

showtimefolks4371d ago

I played the demo kind of liked it but most likely will wait for a price drop. And since its capcom i rather that gamestop makes money than these SOB's who think their ways of ripping of consumers is right

and that's sad because capcom has some very good games, they are not in the great department on any level IMO. last gen they were at top now a days most of their home grown developer talent has left them for either western publishers or they have formed their own studios

SKullDugger4370d ago

Just don't buy it then you have to b#&%$ about it.....

Looks like I have another game to add to my list of games I want but can't afford.

KozmoOchez4371d ago

I know that's right, I have a job and I still won't be able to get all the May games that I want

ReservoirDog3164371d ago

Subscribe to gamefly for 3 months for $17 and burn through them all through the summer. All you have to do is get referred to gamefly by someone and you get 2 months for $17. The day before it ends, cancel and they'll give you an extra month free. That's 3 months for $17. And you can fit a lot of games in 3 months.

It's a really good deal and you'll go through all the games you wanna play but can't afford.

If you need more information, just pm me.

Hicken4371d ago

No offense, but who plays games like that? I couldn't possibly burn through 3 months' worth of games in an actual 3 months, and I love games and gaming.

That's the thing I hate about Gamefly: it seems to promote this speed-play mentality which I feel takes away from actually enjoying a game thoroughly.

It's off topic, but I just had to say something.

dedicatedtogamers4372d ago

Granted, Game Informer has given nearly EVERY Capcom game (even Dead Rising 2 Rehash) an 8+ score...

Baka-akaB4372d ago (Edited 4372d ago )

So ? it's not as if they are reviewing Capcom , they are reviewing the games .

i'm not a GI fan , but trying to find some logical pattern is fuzzy there . At best it could only mean that Capcom would get them , taste wise

MysticStrummer4372d ago

Reading the rundown makes it sound like the score would be higher. Wonder what they subtracted points for? Oh well. I still can't wait.

Kinger89384371d ago

good score from what i played of the demo!

i wont get it myself, fps seemed a bit low and the visuals/gameplay didnt really appeal to me but maybe once i see more of it ill have a better look! cant judge a game by its demo after all!

mttrackmaster384371d ago

Maybe because you were level 20? It's a demo, of course they made it easy. Otherwise, people who aren't masochists won't buy the game.

Drabent4371d ago

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning was way to easy:P

Dragon's Dogma Is Still Amazing

Although the sequel is on the near horizon, the original Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen remains a fantastic action RPG, still worth playing.

A lot of the quest lines in Skyrim are good(not all and they don’t add up as a whole if you do thieves guild mage fighters guild etc) The dragons are very lame after the first few times and the combat is clunky as it always has been. The stupid sprint button is ridiculous.

Overall I agree DD is the better rpg game.

Both have theirs strengths and weaknesses but Skyrim should be so much more being the 5th game in Elder Scrolls series.

Excited to see what they add on to DD 2.

Unfortunately all they have done to Elder Scrolls since Morrowind is take things out (minus the sprint button which is so lame because you can kill dragon god like creatures but can’t run for more than ten seconds without getting tired)

anast48d ago (Edited 48d ago )

I liked the vampire questline and the return to Morrowind was okay, but the problem with Skyrim was the lack of consequence. There is almost no point in the quests. After I realized this, I started messing around with the mods and then quit playing. Though, I did spend 300 hrs. on modded content, but this is telling of how bad the game kind of is.

If DD was the size or close to the size of Skyrim, It would have been the primer fantasy game back then. I hope they up the size with DD2.

5 Games To Play While Waiting For Dragon's Dogma II

Daman Shelley from NoobFeed writes - Dragon's Dogma is truly a one-of-a-kind game, and there really is no other game like it, but there are a few that come close. Whether with their fantasy settings, the ability to climb mountains, or just with the overall same charm as Capcom’s iconic RPG. Here's a list of games that will hopefully scratch that Dragon's Dogma itch.

every gamer should play this game

gold_drake98d ago

cant wait for it, feb and march are busy busy months ha.

SovereignSnaKe98d ago

I can still hear the title screen music in my head after nearly 12 years. Loved every minute of it.

MrNinosan98d ago

I have no issues filling my time til DD2.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Infinite Wealth and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will probably me more than enough.
More terrified I won't be done in time.

DivineHand12598d ago

Try not to burn yourself out before the game releases. This is going to be a long and immersive RPG like the first one.

The games in this article are all great and I believe the people who are excited for Dragons Dogma 2 probably already played most of those games.

For now, I recommend you prepare yourself for long play sessions if you will be picking up Dragons Dogma at launch.
