Diablo 3 is undoubtedly all the rage in any PC gamer’s world right now. After all, after such an astounding hit that Diablo II was, the 2000 game’s successor could only be better, right? Especially after it’s been in development for, oh, eleven years?
Wrong.
Via Diablo’s global director of community Adam Fletcher, Blizzard is introducing new measures to improve the quality of season launches in the future. Across both Diablo 4 and the aging Diablo 3, fans of Blizzard’s games should all benefit.
If they didn't let the cellphone guy touch the 3rd one in first place, they wouldn't have to dance around like clowns trying to make money.
We've been asking for less "boring" seasons... "boring"... not "buggy"... same ol' rehashed content just a different color is not working.
Who says a dud game can't have a video game comeback?
Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky have to be up there. We're lucky and cursed, equally, to have games that can be updated now. For folks old enough to remember the Sega/SNES into PS1 and even 2 eras, if a game came out that was half baked (*cough*Angel of Darkness*cough*) that was it, no redemption. At the same time, having the option for updates shouldn't be an excuse for half assing games.
Diablo III still works on modern PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and remains hugely playable a decade after initial release.
Are you comparing a continuously improved 10+ years old masterpiece with the... beta of an unreleased game?
Doesn't seem to be nearly as big as i would have expected for a blizzard game. i played the beta (which is just a demo), and i found it to be extremely boring. a game that was fun in the 90s isn't automatically fun now. this game is a prime example.
essentially all you're doing is spam clicking things so you can pick up loot to make clicking on things more efficient. it doesn't require any skill to play and since it's so repetitive, i can't imagine investing hours in it.
Diablo 1 was incredible, Diablo 2 was okay, but felt dated and the grind was getting annoying, Diablo 3 is actually just not fun to play.
@below: you're right. we're all entitled to our opinions. that's yours, this is mine. but i'm not going to leave it. criticism generally is what leads to improvements. not that we'll see a diablo 4 in the next decade. i will say that i have a tough time considering this game to be diablo 3. it really just feels like a re-coded diablo 2 using a physics engine. even though i already have diablo 3 pre-installed, max payne 3 is seeming more and more like a launch day purchase to me.
For me: I'm still gonna get it. Imo it seems like they are leaning towards the casuals. Just judging by the fact that they are interested in a console port.
never played a diablo game and i want to play diablo 3.
ummm...11 years in development...? Since we're all entitled to our opinions, the guy who wrote this is retarded for assuming Blizzard has been working on D3 for 11 years. It's just silly to think that.
I think some people are being a bit over judgmental here. Other than MoP for WoW, Blizzard has always delivered. I'm willing to bet this game will be a hit.
torchlight 2 all the way!
