1UP- "Way back in the misty days of 1998, the late, lamented Looking Glass Studios turned out the first Thief and accomplished nothing less than birthing an entirely new genre. Metal Gear and Tenchu each threw their stealthy genes into the mix that same year, but Thief remains probably the purest incarnation of a stealth game where patience, observation, and intelligence count for more than reflexes. After the release of two sequels, the series has been left fallow for nearly a decade while games like Hitman, Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed took the basic idea and ran with it.
Later this year (or perhaps next) we'll be witness to a revival of the cult favorite, but Eidos Montreal will have a lot to balance if they're to satisfy long-time fans while incorporating the modern conventions we've come to take for granted. Thief IV won't just have to live up to its own legacy, but will need to catch up with the pace set by its own bastard offspring as well."
Jo from GamersFTW writes: 'Picture this: there you are on a sunny Sunday afternoon playing a video game, relaxing, having fun. Then all of sudden something jumps at you from off screen, or makes the most horrific noise known to man and you find yourself staring in horror at what just happened on your television screen. Jump scares, love them or hate them they always make you feel uneasy but strangely wanting more.'
Number seven made me laugh – ‘Outlast – The Whole Game’
I think the spin off, Whistle Blower, was actually scarier though.
Nice to see the Piano from Mario in there too, definitely one to remember.
My personal favourite was from Resident Evil 3, when you're in the relative calm of the police station and then - BAM!! - out of nowhere Nemesis smashes through that tiny window at the bottom of the staircase.
Man I jumped so much my controller flew up in the air, Jill was butchered, and I couldn't recollect myself for hours afterwards. Classic.
What a great idea for a feature!!! Would of liked to have send Silent Hill and Until Dawn... scary stuff
Omg the Resident Evil dogs gave me nightmares! One part of the game I dreaded the most.

Michael, Ray, and the best of the worst for the week of March 10th!
I really believe Eidos will down down the stealth gameplay in favor of over the top casual action
Well obviously it needs less stealth, more guns, more dubstep, a multiplayer mode, online passes, on disk dlc, and all that other fun stuff. I seriously hope that another stealth series doesn't become a boring shitty "stealth" action game like what happened with Splinter Cell Conviction and what will most likely happen with Hitman Absolution.
I missed out on Thief due to not gaming on the PC but fell in love with the genre through Tenchu and MGS. Splinter Cell was a great title when it came out and I've always wanted to try Thief.
