Seems that Skype App is so far pretty awesome. A few tweeks and it's going to be a huge deal. I love how it can run in the background while you game and you can use both the front and rear screens while talking. "Hey babe, check this out"

They just need to advertise it now.
I live in the UK and i haven't even seen one
advertisement for the Vita on TV.
Such an amazing console too,loving Rayman origins

PS3 had a lot of amazing features too, yet many people here in America remain oblivious to them. Perhaps Sony puts them in there just to reward people who are smart enough to buy their products /s .... seriously though, I wish they would do a tad more proper marketing, because the lack of recognition i've witnessed over the last few years pains me a bit.

Its ridiculous how much the SONY brand has fallen off peoples radars these past few years (except the playstation brand)

All that's advertised is Apples the new Ipad,
the new Iphone the new Ipod anything with an I in it sells loads purely on brand recognition.

SONY need a new marketing scheme because people
buy what they see on the TV or what their friends have and it isn't a SONY product its an Ipad.

Come on SONY get the VITA on the TV and advertise its features and games do not make some obscure pointless advert that no one understands.All they have to do is show the product.
Thats my opinion anyway lol =)

Wouldn't that be a 9/10 at the most if it's missing things like that?

Dudes I just DLed it.
There is no way to text chat at all through it.
Also it froze my Vita and I had to hard restart.

Seriously try it, my PSVita only froze once.. but I only tried the app 3 times and there is no text chat.
10/10 my @ss.

I love the App. I use Skype all the time to keep in touch with my friends, and the only issue is no text chat right yet.

the fact that M$ own Skype doesn't mean that they take the decisions. look at GTA, it's developed by R*, which is owned by Zenimax.... who got the tons of awards for the game? R* or Zenimax?

Regarding the vita's text chat omission in skype, If it's given enough time it I'm sure it will eventually stand at least toe to toe in functionality with mobile phones.(minus the weak cams)
