Sure enough, an online petition has appeared that HD DVD supporters can rally around.
Well the thing is that instead of signing these petitions, which will be pointless unless it numbers beyond the number of HD-DVD players sold, these guys should just go and buy a lot of HD-DVD films. Why in the world would studios care for these small unofficial petitions.
So true. The petition i signed 5 years ago for a FF7 remake has got me.....
This is HD-DVD eulogy...
this reminds me of when CAPCOM went Multi with DMC, and all the ps3 fangirls were crying up a storm.
Can someone make a Petition to make HD DVD die? I'll sign
you know, that seems to make more sense. That way we can make this war end that much faster.
if someone makes that, I would sign it. There's no point in keeping two formats, more people loose out that way.
Making one as we speak...I just want this to end so everyone can live as one happy, unified format. EDIT: All right, here it is: http://www.petitiononline.c...
online petitions hardly ever work, and one that hopes to keep a format alive like hd dvd wont work, because an online petition wont sway major movie corps. to support the format
It's ok HD-DVD owners, you can go Blu! Your always welcomed to go Blu and so is Paramount.
i'm agree with ruibing, you are going to have a los of MS fans andxbox fans signing the petition in order to hurt sony, i think the best way to keep alive the format is buying a lot of movies and HD-DVD player may be those 16.8 millions of xbox owners can buy the add-on HD DVD and that can be a huge win for toshiba :P
I'd like to see that petition, to see who's these morons are who are signing it. now we know who's asses to kick. HD DVD fanboys or XBOX 360 fanboys? Is there people who are really just pure HD DVD fanboys? I mean it's just a damn disc format.
There are no HD DVD fanboys. They're only Xbox fanboy thinking supportting HDDVD hurts Sony. Thats why this thing is so sad. Someone PLEASE start a petition to KILL HDDVD. PLEASE. Well see who gets signed more.
I didn't create this, but it's there. http://www.petitiononline.c...
never considered there actually being a petition for letting HDDVD die. Only one signature. I guess not to many people are concerned about letting HDDVD die faster.
ok now all PS3 owners have to sign that to see the HDDVD die >.<
Why even sign it, we all know HD DVD is dead.
Can someone make this petition a story like the save HD on is. More people that see it the better.
already Signed ----- DIE
unfortunately i dont think this will help
...............A DEATH NOTE or a signing of farewell because clearly it cant be somebody trying to keep it alive......................... .i hope.
Anyone who sign it will die by a heart attack.. For real i watch it happen in death note. Beware HDDVD owners..
Petition to keep your mama of the streets
Mama jokes still exist?
I would like to see the results of that ??? SAD SAD SAD...You Xbox fanbaoy should show some balls and donate money instead of singing some stupid petition. Wait if you had money you would own the SUPERIOR format already... Money talks HD-DVD walks..
And Sony fans should know about petitions...
I don't get it. Was that an inside joke? Where's the punchline..O.o i'm lost.
theres nothing wrong for fighting for what you believe in as long as it is selfless... but honestly there is no reason for hd-dvd to exist and it really does hurt consumers so fighting to it is selfish
This is pathetic. Who exactly are they petitioning to? The consumer who is choosing Blu-ray over HD-DVD? Or is it the corporation that sees what the consumer wants and makes a decision based on it? I'm sure Warner Bros is going to change their minds based on a couple of HD-DVD fanboys. Yeah, that makes sense.
Anytime something has a petition thats almost certainly the death knell. If people are that desperate that means it wont be long now. I own a 360 but I personally dont care who wins, just as long as someone does. Its not fair to the consumer to have to choose or buy both.
Beat them HD-DVD fanboys to tears.
That would be if HD-DVD ever beat Blu-rays theoretical maximum of space. However, that will never happen...
Unfortunately, petitions don't return lost potential profit to HD-DVD.
if they want HD-DVD to stay alive makin an online petition is not the answer but you know what is, how about buying HD-DVDs and spreading the word about it, how about getting one for your family or friends as a gift that is the way to keep it alive but i guess there is stil a chance and if they can't stay up the doors are open for them to go blu
Buying loads of HD DVDs makes way more sense than signing a silly online petition. Companies don't care about names, they care about money.
yea they do, but you forgot to mention..........oh wait.....you said money.....nevermind :P
"Mr Secretary General, You must impose sanctions on the BDA, we believe they have weapons of mass destruction and can deploy them within 45 days. The BDA and their terrorist allies, constitute an axis of evil..."
always said "loose tongues have a way of punishing their owners", what do the xbots who made fun of the equally pathetic PS3 fanatics that started petitions to boycott Devil Gay Cry(lame game) think now? if the current trend continues, xbots should just have a coke and a smile to go along with that helping of crow they have been served.
LoL, what a bunch of losers when has a petition done anything.
thanks BaMYouRDeaD, that's 15 signatures now.
I chose not to buy the ADD-ON or the PS3, I refuse to be caught up in the format war, I see a lot of lawsuits being raised because of this fiasco, when there was Betamax and VHS movies were just picking up pace so nobody really knew what was going on, but this time I think this will reach very high legal implications, the public are not test crash dummies and should be compensated. You guys sighning a petition to end the HD-DVD format make me sick, this is not just Xbox-360 owners that suffer, remember there are many buyers of the standalone format who had no intention of buying a games console, all they see is a piece of hardware they bought that states it will play HD-DVD and they have been betrayed by the hardware makers and the film companies.
betrayed by the hardware makers and film companies? how so? that's what a format war was all about. something had to lose, and someone has to take the pain. blu-ray owners happened to be a majority of the HD market, so if anything. satisfying the MAJORITY of the market is better than satisfying the minority which is HD-DVD.
this is pretty pathetic... they should stop waisting time getting people to sign this and get people to return their hd-dvd players.
Your points would be more valid but HD-DVD hardware has been selling well, they should have stuck with both formats, if Blu-ray is better then this would become the format of choice, why not say to the consumer ok! we will support both formats but there may be features on one that you cannot get on the other but not just leave HD-DVD supporters out in the cold. This is not a PS3 versus Xbox-360 issue anymore, all jokes aside this is wrong and should not be tolerated, it is high time that things like this were discussed before they were even released. At least the PS3 and the Xbox-360 have one thing in common and that is that when all said and done they will both still play games and have quality software released, but HD-DVD owners is seems have little to look forward to.
If anyone out there has a Deathnote, could you please write HD-DVD in it to end this quickly...cause of death should be: Total Pwnage by Blu-Ray Disc!
Can we please have another Petition to say KILL HD-DVD quickly, so we can move on with our lives. While I feel sorry that these people brought a product that no one will be supporting soon. There had to be a winner and these people knew that was a chance that the format they went with might not win.
well thats it then. when you are making petitions to keep a format alive its very very dead.
why wud anyone wanna keep hd-dvd alive??? maybe the losers who already bought the hd=dvd player and dont wanna lose their money lol, dunno who else
OMG Are these guys serious? They really think some little petition is going to save HD DVD. Funny. Blu-ray is the future. Those of you who only spent $99 for the HD DVD player didn't lose that much but those who spent above that like $300 just got big time screwed.
Actions like this is really really bad for the format. It sends a clear message that the market lost faith in its viability. This will hasten the demise of HD-DVD. They were not thinking. Would you as a company owner invest in a format where the people who bought it after a year start a petition to keep it on life support? Heck - if anything this kind of thing will make business abandon it even faster.
Just like the HD-DVD group canceling their CES.
It simply shows that many of these HD-DVD supporters are plain stupid.
I hope they are able to get some money back. Its really pointless. They should accept the fact that the HD-dvd will die. They should just move on like everyone that was ever on a loosing side.
