Taiwan online game operator to tap markets in Europe and South America

Chinesegamer International, an operator of mostly self-developed online games in Taiwan, plans to extend the licensing of its online games from Asia into Europe and South America, and is therefore negotiating with potential operating agents in the two regions, according to company president Shyue-sen Leu.

In addition to expanding its overseas markets, Chinesegamer is making initial R&D efforts to develop handset-based games, and is also developing online games in other themes to diversify its product line for the domestic market, Leu indicated. Chinesegamer's self-developed games have so far concentrated on the role-playing genre with scenarios based on ancient Chinese legends, Leu noted.
