Black Mesa Soundtrack coming in the following days; mod to be released two weeks afterwards

DSOGaming writes: "It's been a couple of months since our last feature of Black Mesa, right? Well, as we’ve informed you back in January, the team behind Black Mesa would be releasing first its soundtrack and then the full game would follow. The gap between the soundtrack and the mod was said to be around two weeks. And it seems that the Black Mesa team is getting ready for a Summer release, as the soundtrack is expected to be released in the following days."

Just in time for school to be over and summer to start :). I'm going to play the original before playing Black Mesa...It's been a while since I played Halflife.

These guys deserve steak and blowjobs for the next three years. I mean seriously, the sheer dedication these guys have for their work is insane. They've tackled this with the talent, foresight, and skill of a professional team for a non-profit project that wasn't even part of their job.

Considering they said the trailer they released a while back was way out of date despite still being freaking awesome is hopefully a good tell that this mod (game?) is gonna be incredible.

whatever happen to unlocking characters by playing the game? lol

CaptainYesterday4358d ago

I know I miss that so much it sucks when characters and costumes are DLC :(

Blues Cowboy4358d ago

F2P games are starting to realise that. Everything can be unlocked in Planetside 2, for example.

Remember that these games are free, but have to make money somehow. A couple of quid here and there is probably not a big ask for something you'll play for 20 hours +.

That said, I still hate DLC that takes characters and stuff out in full-priced games. Either it's freemium or premium, you shouldn't have both.

Gran Touring4358d ago

Not to mention, Planetside 2's F2P model is pretty well implemeneted in that paying players have no strict advantage over players that dont.
