NetherRealm dev: 'I wanted to vomit' at Vita loading times, 30 FPS 'was never an option'

One of our highlights from PAX East last weekend was NetherRealm’s upcoming Vita version of Mortal Kombat. We had the chance to speak to Associate Designer on the project, Derek Kirtzic, as he gave us an in-depth tour of the game running on Sony’s new handheld.

We pointed out that the smooth, constant 60 FPS during gameplay was striking, and that loading times were also very impressive. Derek let us know just how serious the team at NetherRealms is taking this handheld port, and that it’s not just another console game shoehorned into a portable device.

The story is too old to be commented.

Kind of misleading. He was talking about other games load times, while the article says that MK's on vita was lightning fast and rocking 60fps.

its not a headline, unless its negative.....or so seems to be the case with gaming journalism. Sad thing is this is PSU

LOL! The title of the article is kind of misleading. Its actually a positive article about how MK runs on the Vita at 60FPS. ^^

60FPS in my opinion is an absolute must for fighting games. I honestly cant stand playing fighters that are less than that.

60 fps is just better period, otherwise gameplay has to be slowed down and input lag is more common. Imagine dark souls at 60 fps... I hope its well done on pc!
