The problem with these people protesting and swearing off the games is that quite a lot of them end up getting it anyway just so that when they discover that it's crap they can swear off the next COD game. And the cycle is repeated. While they may care more than the casual COD players, they still pick the games up.

Really I don't care either way, I was only into the Modern Warfare games so it doesn't really matter to me if they change things in the next game. Of all the issues listed the only one that really bothers me is the dual-wield machine pistol nerf, but even then a skilled player can kill those people. I enjoy call of duty, and play it with my friends, but over the last couple months we've just stopped playing mostly. We all agree that mw3 is a mess and mostly rehash...even more so than any other before it.

We all loved blackops and want the new treyarch game, it is crazy to think that we are actually looking forward to a treyarch game. Amazing how the tides can turn in 2 years.

Couldn't agree with you more. While there's a lot of people who dislike WW2 games, I enjoyed WaW, and Black Ops was the first CoD I actually hit max prestige on. Black Ops had some great ideas. I don't understand why they didn't incorporate some of them into MW3 (e.g. BO's theater mode had much better controls, and the shotguns actually killed people).

that's easy, since everyone left infinity ward or was fired they had a patchwork dev team that did nothing original because they didn't have time. There is so much copy and paste from mw2 in mw3 that it is silly.

Treyarch's next game will be more complete and actually feel a bit more new than MW3 because they had a full 2 years of time into it.

I've played call of duty since the beginning on PC and MW3 is probably the one I liked the least. 3 was bad, but at least it was a different game. I didn't care for world at war because of the color palette...it was very hard for me to see enemies when everything was mostly green and brown. The game play was good though.

I figured as much. Even some of the weapon animations look shitty (like when you run with certain shotguns). Another thing I liked about BO was the diving and the way all the weapons felt. Running with a Stakeout in your hands felt really nice.

I think one thing most people can agree on is that COD4 was the best the series had to offer. Not only was the campaign fucking phenomenal, but the MP didn't cater to all these ADHD kids that like to run and gun; it was slower, making game types like S&D more tactical.

Thing is treyarch actually made a good Cod game. All the weapons had recoil, no ACR across the map bolocks. Snipers wouldn't get kills from 5 meters away.

Seriously here's improvements Cod needs:

1. UAV becomes a 5 killstreak min (this nerfs assassin/ghost)
2.Stopping power returns but increase damage vs legs and arms ONLY to match damage vs chest.
3. Remove steady aim. No one should like this perk and it ruins balance.
4. Bigger emphasis on weapon types. Make sure they all preform differently.
5. Maps. Remove the one sided approach on maps where one team has advantages over the other.

you and I both know that the UAV/Spy Plane will never get bumped up to 5 kills. what they should do is, that if you're running ghost then your radar is disabled. its only fair. I always run counter-spy plane because imo if the opponents are running ghost (which is every game) then they don't deserve a radar. only fair.

I just traded the game in at Best Buy and got $37 back. I shouldn't have bought the game in the first place. That's how you protest...The game has been crap for 4 years...why complain about it now? They've made billions off CoD and have invested very little into the game. At the same time though, I don't consider myself in that category because I understand that there is more to the industry than ONE series of games. What my comment above was trying to focus on are those people who play MW and ONLY MW. And my point was that those people, the same people that are "protesting" the lack of fixes/updates to their favorite series, are just as guilty as Activision because despite their willfulness to go online and decry the lack of changes, a vast majority STILL go out and purchase the game anyway.. ultimately causing their whole argument or "movement" null and void.

But sure, it's easy to hop on here and call me out for replying to an issue, or as you put it, "spend[ing] my time going to threads for games I no longer play to insult the people who still enjoy the series?". However, I've taken the time to reply because I love and believe in the games industry, and while you may not agree with what I have to say, you can't help but deny the fact that Activision and the MW games have single single handedly stifled and stagnated the industry -- at least the mainstream aspect of the industry.

Which is precisely why indie developers have become increasingly popular and why gamers understand the importance and overall good associated with organizations like Kickstarter. Gamers also know and understand that if we wait for big box publishers, like Activision, to give us what we want, we'll be waiting until the end of eternity and that is because those types of publishers generally are are not concerned about allowing us consumers into the development dialogue. After thinking about it, I decided that I was a bit hard on you, sorry about that.

I am just a bit tired of gamers always bashing each other instead of standing together to force companies to improve the quality of the games we buy.

I don't even play COD games, and only checked out the thread because I was curious to see what the fuss is about, so I don't really have room to talk.

I guess I simply feel that all gamers should have the right to complain if they are unhappy with a product without worrying that some other gamer is going to bash them for it. But what I did was probably not any nicer then your comment so after thinking about it I want to apologize.

I don't play COD games, but I do think it is high time for gamers to stop fighting with each other over silly nonsense like 'which console is better' or the 'FPS vs everything else question' and ban together for gamers rights.

Sure some people will say this type of action is foolish or childish, just as people did about the whole ME3 thing, but the reality is that even if this game is not your type of game it is a popular game. It has enough fans behind it to give it the power they need to send a message. If you bought this game, and you are disappointed, you have a right to be upset.

The more gamers stand up and demand quality in gaming the better chance we have in actually receiving quality games in the future. I say good for them!

The problem with this are
1) There will still be people playing. Sadly this message will probable reach only a small amount of the user base and even then only a small portion of them are actually going to protest. I would be surprised if more than 5% actually follow through.
2) IW has been known for their lack of support in past titles. COD 4 had supports, but not much. COD 6 (MW2) had almost 0 support. Why would you expect IW to support COD 8 (MW3)?
3) IW/Activision doesn't care. They already made their trillions of dollars. Like I said in point 1 the amount of people who see this and actively take part are going to be very few. But the real problem is that then they will buy the next game hoping it will be better.

While this protest is a good idea the only way its never going to work and Activision won't care. Vote with your wallets. It's the only thing they know.

I play Black Ops still, was playing last night. The multiplayer for Black Ops is a blast, and I still love playing it. Blacks Ops is WAY WAY better than MW3

Most of the "demands" are just opinions, or more to the point, bits that annoy whoever came up with this BS.

For sure some items on the list are needed, improvements to spawns, lag compensation etc - but when it comes to nerfing akimbos (which has already been done more than once) and removing stealth bomber from support etc - that is just an opinion, it isn't a technical problem or a bug.

at least this is a more reasonable approach to telling devs/publishers you're not happy rather than throwing a temper tantrum, whining all hours of the day about an ending you've (from another story i've read) been made aware of since the very first game, uttering death threats, and selfishly donating money in an attempt to force bioware into changing said ending...

And that is: did not and will not buy any CoD games since MW2 came out! I could be late to the party because I purchased CoD games up until Modern Warfare 2.

I skipped Black Ops, I skipped Modern Warfare 3 and GOING to skip future CoD games.
