Yakuza: Dead Souls Review - The Digital Fix

Yakuza: Dead Souls is the latest Yakuza game from Sega giving us their take on the ubiquitous gaming staple of the Zombie apocalypse, right in the backyard of the Omni Alliance and the Dojo Yakuza clans. The game follows the trials and tribulations of Kazuma Kiryu and Ryuji Goda as they survive and battle their way through the district of Kamurocho, helped by Yakuza favourites Goro Majima and Shun Akiyama. The game follows the 4 protagonists as they clear the streets of the shambling cannon fodder while taking on a multitude of tasks from the local residents who still have all of their faculties intact. All at the same time as uncovering the source of the brain eating menace and playing a game of bowling, too

Yes.Also the PSP games should be ported

Iltapalanyymi928d ago

Absolutely, especially ishin and kenzan. I also played the kurohyou psp game that was translated recently and had a blast. Now i want more of it but sadly the 2nd one isnt translated. Maybe RGG studio could port it to some kind of HD collection? Would be cool

Iltapalanyymi928d ago

Yakuza Ishin and Kenzan should totally get a remaster/port for modern consoles with a western localization. Dead Souls I'm more on the fence. I had fun with that game. But it's undoubtedly far below the franchise standard.

There was an interview where they mentioned they are giving it a second thought just because Ghost of Tsushima did so well, previously they were not convinced those games would find an audience in the west.

Personally I would love it if they ported these over.

Do Not Sleep On Yakuza: Dead Souls

Yeah, Yakuza: Dead Souls is very loud and very dumb, but sometimes that's exactly what you really need.

It's the best zombie game I played with a very mutual serious tone story that does not take itself to a serious if that makes sense

I highly recommend you play this game I just wish they would update the controls because the controls are just kind of weird. But you get used to it after a few hours

Very fun game. I would love a sequel. The first person controls were hard at first, but once you learn the trick to quick aim, its cake. Another overlooked classic.

Get to the Top sang by Majima is alone a reason to play this hidden gem.

In time....I remember back in mid 2000's the ps2 emulator hardly ran anything, and now it runs 90% of the games.
