GSC has yet again moved to assure fans that work on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is still ongoing.
Stalker 2 developer GSC Game World wanted the game to destroy the common media trope of showing a "better life" to players.
Issue # 406 of Edge Magazine has been released, and it features reviews for games including Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and more.
'In related news, it was recently reported that the launch concurrent player count stats for MachineGames’ latest title, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, were below its previous games. According to Steam charts, the action-adventure game reached an all-time concurrent player count of 8,148 players on the platform.'.
It has been claimed by the owner of GSC Game World that talks are underway regarding a live-action adaptation of STALKER with Netflix.
Hey; I'm all for these guys getting that cash coming in, but Netflix is really, really hit or miss with their adaptations. Leaning a lot on miss.
I... could...be interesting. I mean, on the surface, you just need a bunch of people in dirty tacti-cool gear shooting each other and mutants and collecting mundane objects with extraordinary powers. Maybe an anthology series that shows different stories in the zone and avoiding following any of the game stories... but Netflix, so they will probably botch it.
Hollywood gonna run game movies and shows into the ground like they did with Comic Book stuff.
So it's still on track for no date?
I could never get into the first even though I really wanted to like it, might give it another go someday though.
The first one was amazing with its creepy environment and NPCs. I left my first and only RPG on the ground since my inventory was full. I was on the Role Playing Game mentality thinking of getting them back later after selling some junk. I barely left the rocket for a second when some stalker picked it up, appraised it, mumbled some incoherent compliments and brazenly took it as his own while ignoring the other perfectly fine AK47s. I haven't seen an NPC interaction like that in any game since. Usually they just walk around and ignore your dropped loot but not in STAKLER.
Are they still going to implement the always online DRM they originally planned to use for STALKER 2?
If they do, I regrettably have to give this one a pass.
Take your time fellas, plenty to play right now.
This is what I like to hear.
