'They still have a way to go as a narrative medium, I'm afraid.' If for eg people like Kojima can do it & games like Bioshock can do brilliant writing, I say lazy writing is to blame whether that is dev or publisher decision, gamers shouldnt suffer for poor/incomplete products. There is no lack of talented script writers.
