MGS4 to make use of tilt sensor controller?

The next instalment in the Metal Gear Solid franchise could yet make use of the tilt sensors that feature in the PlayStation 3 controller. In an interview with US magazine PSM2, series creator Hideo Kojima admitted that the team behind Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots hadn't decided on how to utilise the tilting mechanism in the PS3 pad, but did throw out some ideas of his own to the magazine, suggesting that, "Perhaps you could use it for the FP view, or to shake down guards for items, like in the past MGS games."

Wow now thats what I wanted to hear, a legendary developer who is not scared to use this new feature. I hope he will find a way to utilize this controller and make it a worthwhile addition to the Ps3.

I like where he stated that the camoflodge suit is made by using a trick in the Ps3 hardware. That means that he got some sort of grip on how to develope games for this so called "hard to develope for Ps3". I can't wait to get my hands on this game it looks like it will be above and beyond what I was expecting.

all this says is "COULD". That's like saying nothing, MGS4 "could" also travel you back in time or "could" be free. This isn't news.

THE TRUTH6625d ago

"all this says is "COULD". That's like saying nothing, MGS4 "could" also travel you back in time." Well I guess if MGS4 "COULD" travel back in time then so "could" you!!!!

It's not like we are talking about just any developer this is thee Kojima, man even if your not a PS3 fan you could at least understand that he does deliever, and deliever BIG GAMES. Why do you feel the need to try and find something negative? Just be excited about the game he is trying hard to make for us gamers jeeesh......

Bill Gates6625d ago

ALWAYS LOOKING FOR THE NEGATIVE IN ALL PS3 HUH PAUL. YOU'RE SUCH AN IDIOT, AND A SAD EXCUSE FOR A HUMAN BEING.

ONCE AGAIN, BARELY ANY POSTS BEING MADE ON THE 360 SIDE. WHY? CAUSE NOBODY CARES. ALL THE 360 FANBOYS ARE TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH PS3. HOW PATHETIC YOU PEOPLE ARE.

Marriot VP6625d ago

you guys just don't get it. This doesn't mean anything. Sure I like MGS4, it's a solid game but this isn't news

andy capps6624d ago

As much as you may not like it, this is news. If Kojima says something could be done, then he probably will do it. Come on, if Bungie puts out a snippet of news about Halo 3 you guys eat it up..

But this is an article about Kojima Interview about the game, which he is considering of using the tilt sensor on the game. "Could" does not mean noting, "could" mean possibility of it happening.

Marriot VP6625d ago

the interview has substance I know. But the gyroscope "could" only means it's possible. Well anything's possible with accessories or functions. That's all I meant, I wasn't putting down any game or console.

THE TRUTH6624d ago

Ok whatever you say paul, but when you do say something at least try and contribute something worthwhile. I mean saying: "the interview has substance I know. But the gyroscope "could" only means it's possible. Well anything's possible with accessories or functions" is making a statement that could be said about anything. Anything is possible but kojima and the MGS4 series has made things that "could" happen into things that "have" happened.

TheMART6624d ago

Who cares anyway.

The Wii has the only new fun movement controller. The Sony movement controller will only irritate endlessly. Oh sh*tty I just in the heat of the moment was shaking my controller or pulled it away when I was in the moment. Damn the stupid movement sensor reacted and now I'm doing something I didn't ment to.

Really this is a no-no compared to the Wii. And with NO RUMBLE it's even just plain funny cheap playtoys

Scythesean6624d ago

Until you have used the controller, and know how it will be implemented into the games. Try and not sound stupid, if what your saying is true that means that the same thing will happen on the Wii. Do you think a company that's making a game like this is going to not test and think about things like that?

Gamer136624d ago

Sony should leave the sensors controller to Wii.

andy capps6624d ago

Why should they? Sony has had this idea patented for years and has been working on the concept for the controller for 2 1/2 years.

Shaolin Monks is a forgotten gem. I would love to see a new one, or a remake of the old.

That game was actually goated. It was the first time ever that I actually tried to get good at a fighting game. Unfortunately the online connection was so dogshit it made it hard to enjoy and eventually I gave up. Haven't really played much fighting games since.

The Industry Needs To Modernize These 6 Fantastic Classics

The Simpsons: Hit and Run, The Legend of Dragoon, and Chrono Trigger would benefit substantially from a modern remake.

Knightofelemia1d 6h ago (Edited 1d 6h ago )

The Xenosaga trilogy, the Wild Arms games, Xenogears, Parasite Eve, Dino Crisis, Suikoden. The Warriors game I know nothing about but it looks interesting. Anybody can do a list of games they want to see get modernized I would lose my shit if Namco brought the Xenosaga trilogy to modern consoles.
