For people who are going to bash this the site also made a list for the 360 which was lackluster as well. This site is retarded. FFXIII is a 09 title. Did they really have to put Turok there. You have to be moneyhat to put Turok there. PS Home is not a game. Now the true Top 5 08 for PS3 is:

of Halo 3, it will be very hard for any game to surpass the media hype machine that is Halo. Seriously 5 million in 5 months is a force to be reckoned with. I did play it and i was not overly impressed, I wan't blown away by Gears of War either, but i never really gave it a chance.

there are so many games with incredible potential and bonafide AAA status hitting the PS3 that a 5 game list just isn't long enough.

MGS4, FFXIII, White Knight Story, Killzone 2, Gran Turismo 5, Little Big Planet, Haze, LA Noire, Heavy Rain, Infamous, Resistance 2, and those are just the *EXCLUSIVES!

on the multi-plat front, we got Devil May Cry 4, GTA4, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Dark Sector, and my wallet taking quite a beating all year long.

i won't even bother to list the in development games like whatever Team Ico is cooking up for next year, and Sony Santa Monica (God of War 3 anyone?), and sequels to new franchises like the announced Motorstorm 2 (and maybe another Heavenly Sword title for a surprise year end release? who knows).

this article seems like it was written by someone who doesn't know much about video games, or has ignored the PS3 for the past year because it was the hot thing to do since E3 2006. any real PS3 owner and fan will have at *LEAST 5 of the 16 titles i've named above on their must have list.

next year is going to be rather busy for PS3 and 360 fans. maybe we'll be so distracted by the great games we'll be playing that we'll put aside our ridiculous fanboy ranting and game.

Xbox fans keep talking about the games they have and especially the AAA games, and PS3 has no or little AAA games, but if you think about it, xbox has been out for a little over two years now and what AAA titles they have: here they are: Halo3, Bioshock, Gears of war.. and.., what, thats it, yap thats it, why because Mass effect is not AAA, and the rest of the games are all multi.
Let me tell you a secret, video gaming was (and is) never about first person shooters or action games 100%, people want to buy fun games for their kinds, sadly you hardly can find those games on the xbox. Why, I tell you why, here is what Microsoft did, they did a statistical study back after they released the first xbox, and they found out that games that sell the most copies and that generate the most hype are FPS games, therefore, they decided to concentrate on that genre of gaming... the result xbox360, a faulty machine that has only FPS games and most of them really suck.

Thats why if you are a parent for a 5-14 yr old kid, you really should not buy your kids an xbox, because its not that it has no AAA games for them, it simply has no games at all for kids...

how old is that video? it must be pretty dated considering Superman 2: The Richard Donner Cut come out in 06 and the only recent ps3 games they mentioned were R&C and HS. hell, they had Warhawk as number 1 but didn't talk about the new expansion. that video has to be at least a few months old.

Certainly, Final Fantasy XIII and MGS4 are on my list, but I don't care about shooting or war games. Most of those games are cross platform anyways. I don't really care what console wins what war. All I care about are good Japanese games, as well as good western non-shooting based games. I did enjoy Uncharted, even though it was a shooting game primarily. It was the duck and cover type that appealed to me, and was very well balanced in it's mechanics. Naughty Dog has never disappointed me. I hope that 08 is a year that realizes more good Japanese games. Bring on Ryuu ga Gotoku Kenzan!

The single greatest console FPS ever to be invented comes out in March, and you guys rant and rave about the same games being reinvented with new graphics and the super-amazing-next-gen feature of "different weapons". COD4, Killzone2, Halo 3, UT3, etc....these are all the same games as we've been playing for 5 years, with new fancy bells, and you accept this sort of thing as next-gen?

I hate sounding like a fanboy, but I really have to push this. Battlefield: Bad Company will change how FPSs are designed,
marketed, and played, on both the console and on the PC (because if BF:BC can run on a console, BF4 obviously wouldn't need a 10M$ rig to run. Unlike Crysis.)

My xbox friends scrambled to find a proper title to play this December after the shine of Halo 3 faded, their only hope was Mass Effect. Which really appeals to mostly RPG'rs or those on the cusp...meanwhile I was enjoying titles like Unchartered, Unreal III, still trying to finish Ratchet and Clank, and of course highly addicted to Call of Duty 4. On top of that we just got a PSP and it is utterly amazing to access your ps3 and your entire pc network anywhere that has a wifi hotspot with your PSP...this is a feature that just never gets old. I can listen to my mp3s, view my pics and vids on my PC which is networked to my ps3.

Holding all those features in your hand coupled with the fact that the biggest exlusives havent even come out yet, you would have to be ignorant or completely a blind fan if you slag the PS3 or the PSN.

As a PC gamer for 15 years plus...PS3 is the breath of fresh air i was waiting for in a console system.

The reactions to that list just shows, that the 2008 lineup is amazing. 5 titles can't do justice.
