Vox Games: Speaking at GDC 2012, Obsidian Entertainment's Timothy Cain calls Fallout "the game that almost never was." The innovative post-apocalyptic RPG started life as a skunk works project Cain tinkered around with alone in his office. It became a franchise and an inspiration. It was almost cancelled twice.
Universal Studios Hollywood has annouced that Fallout will be a part of their Halloween Horror Nights event.
Video Gamer: "Earlier this week, we released a story that the source code and in-development assets for both Fallout and Fallout 2 were lost. According to series creator Tim Cain, and as far as he knew, the source codes for both of the original games were destroyed. However, that’s not the case."
Fallout creator Tim Cain revealed that Interplay demanded all source code of the original games to be destroyed.
Glad they made it.
And sad that Bethesda ruined it.
