Sorcery To Last 5-6 Hours, DLC Being Discussed

The PlayStation Move’s biggest standalone game is set to come out in a few months, finally giving the motion peripheral a promising fully-fledged title. Unfortunately, you won’t be playing with your Move for too long, as Sorcery will be on the short side. - PSLS

5-6 hours seems fair for a motion controlled game considering you'll actually have to get up and move around while playing.

LOGICWINS4861d ago (Edited 4861d ago )

lol...yeah okay. Infamous 2 has more replay value than that for a motion game and it'll probably be cheaper than Sorcery once Sorcery comes out.

"InFamous 2 isn't a motion control game. Yes, it has PS Move support but it was made for the DS3 specifically."

????? It can be controlled via motion controls...therefore it is indeed a motion game. Theres no other way to slice it.

GraveLord4861d ago

InFamous 2 isn't a motion control game. Yes, it has PS Move support but it was made for the DS3 specifically.

InFamous 2 $60
Sorcery $40

Replay value is accounted in the price.

NukaCola4861d ago

I saw recent footage of this game and it looks incredibly updated and very polished.

5-6 hours is unacceptable because the expectations that this would be Sony's Fable is a real let down. I was expecting an RPG. A 5-6 hour game seems like it will just be a linear game with little to no options or customization at all.

I hope this is not true.

GribbleGrunger4861d ago

i'm seriously getting tired of this. you guys are quick to try and prove that there aren't any MOVE games out there bcause a lot of them are only MOVE compatible, but as soon as a MOVE games comes out you immediately suggest it won't be as much value as a game that has MOVE functionality but wasn't specifically developed for the MOVE. LOGICWINS4861d ago (Edited 4861d ago )

^^I got Infamous 2 for $18 used and got to enjoy a TWO 16-20 hour campaigns AND I have unlimited UCG missions to play.

With Sorcery, $40 for a 6 hour campaign is a joke...especially considering its been the most anticipated PS Move since the Move debuted.

Nope. 5-6 hours is completely unacceptable for a regular, retail release.

I'll take that back if it launches at $30, but at $60 that's a complete rip-off.

LOGICWINS4861d ago (Edited 4861d ago )

I don't think it'll launch at $60. It'll proly launch at $40. Still a ripoff IMO.

EDIT: Btw, I don't know why everyones shocked by this. This was stated in an IGN article in December:

http://ps3.ign.com/articles...

"I was told that the game is only five or six hours in length, but that returning to earlier areas after completing them to reach previously-unattainable locales and to find collectibles could add plenty of length, if gamers choose to thoroughly explore."

SonyStyled4861d ago

i thought all move only games were priced at $40

Biggest4861d ago

"but that returning to earlier areas after completing them to reach previously-unattainable locales and to find collectibles DOES add plenty of length"

Most games can be played straight through from the beginning in 5-6 hours. It's the good games that make you want to play more than that. I hope Sorcery is one of those games.

Soldierone4861d ago

Err not many games last longer than that and no one complains? Plus its only going to be 40 dollars, if that.

I beat Twisted Metal in under 5 hours, I beat MW2 and MW3 in less than 7....It sucks that finding things is the only thing people can come up with to extend game time....

Philoctetes4860d ago

@Soldierone

Twisted Metal and COD are both primarily multiplayer games with tacked-on single player campaigns. Neither is a good comparison with Sorcery.

You guys are all forgetting a very important potential factor to this game. Fun. I really think this game could be worth the money versus time played IF it just so happens to be a hell of a great experience.

Knight_Cid4861d ago

pathetic. 5-6 hours and then dlc?

CynicalVision4861d ago

Yet COD seems to get away with it.

yesmynameissumo4861d ago

Most games nowadays get away with it. Still looking forward to Sorcery.

Knight_Cid4861d ago

as much as I dislike call of duty the main stories are usually around 10 hours, PLUS THE MULTIPLAYER

so it gets away with it

MrMister4861d ago

So? Whats your point? Sony =/= activision

LOGICWINS4861d ago (Edited 4861d ago )

"Yet COD seems to get away with it."

Because COD's main draw is the online multiplayer...thats why it gets away with it. Same reason MGS4 got away with a crappy online suite...because the single player is the main draw.

@MistaDonzie- He/She is resorting to preschool playground tactics: defending one game's misdeeds by pointing out that other games do the same.

smashcrashbash4861d ago

Hah! You said it. Gamers only have one point of view these days. If it was some crappy MP based shooter with a SP as short as hell with a million DLC you would see how fast everyone would change their tone.

Boody-Bandit4861d ago (Edited 4861d ago )

LogicWins
CODs main draw is accessibility and ease of use. It's a fast twitch, get in, get out quick experience that is extremely easy to play. It caters to all gamers (casual, mainstream and hardcore alike) because of it. Although most hardcore gamers, and some mainstream, tire easy (a few weeks to a month or so) and move on to other games.

On topic:
Most games fall in the 6 to 8 hour range for full MSRP regardless of multiplayer or not. This is a $40 title. Seems awful nitpicking from some on here and we still don't know all the facts about the game. This is one source. Can't we be a little more patient and not pretend this isn't the be all end facts on a game yet to be released?

I didn't expect this from Sony.

TitanUp4861d ago

knight

cod single player only last about 8 hours on highest difficulty and 4 hours on normal/regular

steam farsendor look up my mw3 stats only played about 30-40 mins of multiplayer the rest of my time has been single player.

OC_MurphysLaw4861d ago

MW3 offers MP and Spec Ops which add to the replay value way beyond what the single player game gives.

TitanUp4861d ago

that is true but i would still enjoy a longer campaign mode.

im a pc gamer but i was liking sorcery when they first started showing it.

kma2k4861d ago

5-6 hours is a long time on your feet if you play straight
