Trendy Gamers: In a time when it seems as though every game that comes out has a number at the end of its title, games that break ground on a brand new franchise can be quite enticing. Especially in the case of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, given the all-star team of designers and creative minds responsible for its development. The team put their heads together to create a world never before seen, with rich, detailed lore and beautiful environments to navigate. They carefully crafted a superb combat experience, and a robust customization system to keep things continually fresh and engaging throughout. In these endeavors, the game is very much a success. Unfortunately, there’s little more offered than that. In other words, this is a role-playing game that offers a whole lot of game, but not enough role-playing.
