Europe is such a bizarre region in terms of console sales. Sega and Sony consoles that don't sell as well other places tend to do disproportionately better there. Interesting study in the works, perhaps.

Nice chart. The PS Vita didn't do bad at all. Even sold more in Europe. Glad to see that handhelds are doing well.

Europe is an interesting region. I author a series of books under an alias, and they sold substantially better in Europe during the first few months of release. It was strange. It's the same book and title in both regions (US/UK), but UK peeps just seem to turn out more sales.

Who won? Easy, gamers of course...silly journalists.

pandaboy4527d ago

isn't that always the excuse when sony loses?

GribbleGrunger4527d ago (Edited 4527d ago )

oh, so the starting gun's just gone off and you think Sony's lost? how about we wait and see what happens in the nest 5 years first.

andibandit4527d ago

I was at least expecting the Vita to beat the PSP, this is a little worrying.

StraightPath4527d ago

ouch vita maybe needs price drop.

SilentNegotiator4527d ago (Edited 4527d ago )

Over a 0.13M difference to its 8th gen competitor?

lol

It'll pick up when it gets a price drop, but you can't exactly estimate its success over a week. It might do just fine with the right advertisement. Who knows?

gypsygib4527d ago

I had a nomad, damn sega, every console and handheld I had of theirs except Genesis failed and I was foolish enough to have them all.

Nakerman4527d ago

Pretty good result for Vita, considering everything. The real test is sustaining those sales. With more games becoming avaliable, I think it should do okay.

Also, a nice price cut would help.

Mortal Kombat 9 Is Still NetherRealm's Best Game 13 Years Later

Shaolin Monks next please

vTuro245h ago

Shaolin Monks is a forgotten gem. I would love to see a new one, or a remake of the old.

vTuro245h ago

That game was actually goated. It was the first time ever that I actually tried to get good at a fighting game. Unfortunately the online connection was so dogshit it made it hard to enjoy and eventually I gave up. Haven't really played much fighting games since.

The Industry Needs To Modernize These 6 Fantastic Classics

The Simpsons: Hit and Run, The Legend of Dragoon, and Chrono Trigger would benefit substantially from a modern remake.

Knightofelemia1d 6h ago (Edited 1d 6h ago )

The Xenosaga trilogy, the Wild Arms games, Xenogears, Parasite Eve, Dino Crisis, Suikoden. The Warriors game I know nothing about but it looks interesting. Anybody can do a list of games they want to see get modernized I would lose my shit if Namco brought the Xenosaga trilogy to modern consoles.

Review: Jeanne d'Arc - Long Awaited Strategy RPG Remains Divine | Push Square

Khayl Adam: "With the release of the game for PS5 and PS4, which features up-rendered graphics, quality-of-life features like rewind and quick save, and custom video filters, there is now no excuse not to play what has rightfully become something of a cult classic. Level-5's take on the historical Hundred Years War that raged between the kingdoms of England and France in the 15th century is a creative one, and we're glad to report that the wait has been worth it."
