Microsoft France has just confirmed Forza: Horizon, but what's even more interesting is that another announcement is still to come! What could it be? Maybe a new Gears game?
i agree my friend, if you check the live action trailer of forza horizon, it starts with a few porsches, so i think its kind of confirmation that we"ll be able to drive them.
Forza 4 already has a ton of DLC announced, I doubt the big announcement is DLC, Porsche might be included in Forza Horizon, but Microsoft has a new IP and probably Gears Of War Exile to announce. Still expecting that reboot at some time as well, Killer Instinct would be my guess.
Either way, its looking like the Xbox 360 is getting a ton of great content this year.
I kinda wanted a new PGR but in absence of that, a Forza arcade style racer will do. I guess they gave up on a PGR branded game and it probably evolved into a Forza branded one.
I hate that there is a ton of PS3 news on this site and there is little to no trolling, but the last couple of days, in all of the Xbox 360 news, its filled with trolls.
As fellow gamers, people should be happy for Xbox 360 only owners that they are getting some quality content this year. Last year was a banner year for PS3 and nobody denies that. I enjoyed playing a ton of PS3 exclusives, this year is a little bit more bare for the PS3 as far as exclusives I personally like to play. Now if they release God Of War 4 this year then that'll be a game I'll buy, but that would be the 4th God Of War game and I don't hear anyone saying Sony cant come up with anything new, or that they are milking it, so why is it Microsoft is milking when they release their blockbuster franchises?
The hypocrisy doesn't make sense to me. People complain that Microsoft has no games, then its that Microsoft doesn't care about core gamers, and now its that Microsoft keeps releasing the same franchises.
News flash, Halo, Gears, Fable and Forza are all proven franchises, Alan Wake's American Nightmare is another stellar Xbox game that a lot of people are enjoying. There is also rumors of a new Killer Instinct game and a brand new IP, but I have a feeling even those wont be enough for the people here at N4G, mostly because I'm sure the games will be Kinect enhanced and people here have a problem with choices and people being allowed to use Kinect with a game.....sheeeesh...
Honestly, I had to reply to this. I am happy that Microsoft are spending more of their efforts on exclusive content for their deserving audience, but you can kinda see their reliance on those "proven franchises" can you not? I think hardcore fans would much rather see new content than the same IP that come about every year or 2.
"Last year was a banner year for PS3 and nobody denies that."
People have and still do. Look at comment #4.1 (above).
"Now if they release God Of War 4 this year then that'll be a game I'll buy, but that would be the 4th God Of War game and I don't hear anyone saying Sony cant come up with anything new, or that they are milking it, so why is it Microsoft is milking when they release their blockbuster franchises?"
That because Sony can AND do come up with something new on a regular basis, or ensure that their audience gets something new whether it's first, second or third party. There's always variety and there's a LOT more on offer than their blockbuster franchises. Microsoft KNOW that their blockbusters will sell well, but cannot seem to find the effort to bring something new to the table, outside a casual motion device and things that other people develop for them. That's kinda the difference, the way I see it. Microsoft can do what Sony does and take risks on new IPs. They could be doing so much more. Maybe they won't be as successful as their blockbusters, but they will find a home with a specific audience. That sort of thing worked with Alan Wake, but that's just one game, it wasn't made by MS, and as such it's now on PC. Maybe 1-2 million people will fall in love with these games? It's possible, and that is a respectable approach for a console holder to take.
So you can speak as to what Microsoft Xbox 360 owners want now?
Not even I can do that and I do a good majority of my gaming on the Xbox 360.
I personally like a certain type of game, if you look at the history of new IP's, most fail to make any money at all. Microsoft has said they will announce a new IP this year, that is fine with me.
The reason its fine with me is because I saw a year like 2010, in which Microsoft put out a ton of games and most went unnoticed, even Alan Wake, which only now seems to be a franchise on the rise.
Just so you know though, just because Sony puts out a new IP here or there, doesn't mean it gives Sony fans the right to be total hypocrites.
As for Microsoft fans, I think they will love a year in which they get all their top franchises in one way or another, who the heck could complain about that? Especially in a console cycle this late..
I'll be honest, I expected nothing aside from Halo and the Alan Wake XBLA title this year from Microsoft. The fact that there will be a brand new IP, possibly Killer Instinct reboot, Gears Of War Exile? Fable Hero's and a new IP in Forza Horizon, I know its Forza but its a totally new genre and IP in and of itself. Those are all good things in my opinion.
I have a PS3, but I bought 3 PS3 games last year, the same amount I bought for the Xbox 360. There is a reason even Sony has said they should develop less games in the future.
All those exclusives end up competing against themselves and it seems to me that fanboys use a number of exclusives to thump their chests about, but they aren't actually buying them.
"As for Microsoft fans, I think they will love a year in which they get all their top franchises in one way or another, who the heck could complain about that?"
So now YOU can speak for MS fans?
I cliccked on your name and your sig says " I don't have a horse in the console race" but you sure are defending one particular horse here.
Despite popular belief, MS has been putting out news IPs lately like Rise of Nightmares, Gunstringer, Sesame Street, Disneyland Adventures. Unfortunately, none of them made a dime as none of them sold over 300k.
I said "I think they will love a year in which they get all their top franchises". I never said for sure or tried to be a fanboy about it.
I'm glad a person with 2 bubbles felt the need to click on my name and check my background, if you'd checked a bit longer maybe you would have seen me defend the Vita or the Wii or the Wii U or gaming as a whole.
I wasn't aware that you knew the official numbers for software, why don't you please enlighten us all then? Your obviously a prognosticator of world renown fame.
More announcements to come, hopefully its a new IP. But everything is on the back of my mind for now, tomorrow Halo 4 info is coming, and that is all I care about from that event. Obviously I would like to know what else was there, but come on, its the return of Master Chief, what can beat that?
The 2nd big announcement may be a few things...
Porsche being back (EA's contract with Porsche is over this year).
Forza community site.
More DLC.
at least i hope it is isn't that fable:heroes that i'm hearing...
Some kinf of Halo 3: ODST but this time Gears of War 3: "ODST" sure it wont be named ODST lool
lets wait and see
Since this is true, then it bodes well for the rumours about new ip's coming as well. Cautiously optimistic.
