The Best Dreamcast Multiplayer Games

The Nintendo Wii may get all the mainstream attention when it comes to party games, but the Sega Dreamcast is still one of the best (and most affordable machines) when it comes to solid multiplayer action. The Dreamcast multiplayer library is quite diverse and has a number of titles that are recommended for both hardcore and casual gamers.

There's a great Powerstone collection available on the PSP right now. It's not as cool as a new Powerstone game, but it's nice to see Capcom hasn't given up on the series. I bet we'll see another one soon.

Phantasy Star Online paved the way too, for multi-online gaming on consoles.

I swear the xbox is a resurrected Dreamcast. Anyhow SEGA had some sweet games on the Dreamcast. Cannon Spike was nice. I wish Jet Set Radio was multi, as it could be today if they wanted to make it.

Okay. For some reason the article didn't mention Wacky Races. What's up with that? Wacky Racers was definitely one of the best racers on the system and it had great 4 way split screen play. They even mentioned that bullsh!t game Pen Pen Tricelon. That game sucked! And no Wacky Races? Weak. Also I saw Street Fighter 3 on there, but not Marvel Vs. Capcom. Dreamcast had the best home version of MVC ever. Anyway, decent list, but it seemed incomplete to me.

I remember Wacky Races from the Hanna Barbaro series. It was like a spin on Speed Racer and that was pretty cool.

I see your point you think this game would be on the list. But if you were to pick games for the Dreamcast I could not lower the number to this many because there trully are a lot of great gems.

Wacky Races WAS mentioned in the paragraph with Space Race, but wasn't specifically on the list.

Yes, what a great game and the graphics easily hold up with anything you'd see on the PS2. Likewise Revolt and Toy Commander, all of which I own, were great games as well.

A few years ago I bought a Dreamcast but had a hard time finding good used games, even at the local used game store. In a stroke of a luck I came across a guy that had every Dreamcast game ever made, including unreleased games like Propeller Arena and Prince of Persia. I bought just about his entire collection, minus the sh!t, of course.
