Controversial US analyst Michael Pachter has reiterated his assertion that Nintendo “is in disarray”.
He initially made the claim during a speech at the Ayzenberg A-List Summit 2012. Following the predictable outrage on games forum Neogaf Pachter chimed in to defend his remarks.
TNS: Based on its most recent ESG data, Nintendo boasts a remarkably low staff turnover rate of just 1.9%, with virtually no reported layoffs.
Well it doesn’t surprise me. As much money as they make and how they value their employees. It’s a great company in that regard.
Well, when your games remain full price many years after release.
And you make profit off of outdated hardware.
I would be shocked if they couldn't afford to retain their staff.
The Nintendo Switch 2 has set a new record by selling over 3 million units within 24 hours, tripling the PlayStation 4’s previous launch day sales.
Its crazy that it's both the highest selling console on day 1 and people can walk into a store and buy it with no pre order
Unlike the Switch 2 , the Playstation 4 was not sold on the same day in most regions.
Company skipped last year's event.
Not surprising at all.
I mean, they´ll be releasing a new console in a few weeks.
just his neogaf comments. Nothing to get crazy over
And he remains an idiot.
Even though Patcher's analysis arw supported by trends, facts and statistics, he fails to consider other factors that constitute the entirety of the industry itself which are different to other industries. The video game industry has a niche market in it, always was and always will. Nintendo has a unique appeal to it wherein its games and gameplay set it apart from its competitors.
I understand his point that he needs to be precaution when he speaks because investors are looking at him for advise. But Nintendo has proven to be very strong as a company throughout troubling times and changing trends for the past decades. Patcher may be right but I am highly skeptical.
Michael Pachter has been around the gaming industry long enough to accurately depict any future trends of the industry. Dark Sniper definitely agrees with his statement about Nintendo being in disarray because they are.
Nintendo made the mistake of not making the Wii future proof for long term security. Now it seems as if they are hitting the reset button and finally giving gamers something that the other consoles have had since the mid 2000's, which is high definition gaming. Nintendo has also lost faith in many third party developers as their games always fail to sell on their platform. Leaving only Nintendo to cash in on their instiable greed by making their first party titles the only ones of any relevance.
The difference in power is minute. PlayStation®3 can and will outperform the Wii-U when it comes to pound for pound specs and features. Already sporting next genration graphics, Dark Sniper expects PS3 to beat Nintendo in their own gimmick as the PlayStation® Vita does exactly what the Wii-U controllers does and more.
Dark Sniper gives full credit to Michael Pachter for his incredible foresight into our industry. The Wii-U will be in trouble from launh because of Nintendo's lack of interaction from gamers. The name of the console itself sounds like a university college more than it does as a gaming console.

All it takes is a google search to see which company actually is, "in disarray."
