Nintendo Co is having trouble planning for the coming months because of shortages of its Wii video game console, and the company is also seeing signs of higher-than-expected demand for its DS handheld device, a top U.S. executive said on Monday.
"The level of demand we are facing complicates all of our future business planning," Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America, told Reuters in an interview. "All of that becomes a much tougher exercise until we have supply and demand curves that intersect."

Oh sir, please help me sir.. I'm selling so many consoles, I'm suffering and hurting real bad.. Please sir help.
Sheesh.. Just get on with it guys and stop trying to make yourself seem less 'corporate'..
FYI, My Wii is on order.. I thought it's time I saw what the fuss was all about.. My biggest selling point.. The web browser with a pointy thing, how cool will that be on my plasma? :-)
Sounds like a good problem to have to me.
My buddy has one (a Wii that is). I go over there and play Wii Sports, and mess with Twilight Princess. Both of those games loose their cool new fun factor pretty quickly. I got tired of swinging that dumb remote around in the air trying to kill stuff. If I want to bowl I'll go do some cosmic bowling. If I want to get fit I'll get my fat ass out from in front of my computer or ps3 and go jog or have sex. You know people that have sex at least 3 times a week are less likely to get sick, and it is also a great workout.
But I digress Mario lost his luster back on the N64, Metroid was a better 2d side scroller, Mario Kart was cool the first time around, I saved that slutty Princess Zelda a million times already. The list could go on buy my fat ass wants to eat and play COD:4 or UT3. Wii = teh lose.
...appeals to a whole new generation of gamers who are not driven by tech specs and HD visuals. It was a gamble for Nintendo and I'm glad to see it has paid off. Makes you wonder what the Wii-2 will consist of.
As for the rubbish about supply not meeting demand. Nintendo have now had a year to resolve this but I doubt they ever will.
