‘Brand’ Review – A Sword Fit For A King | IGM

The sword is a classic weapon of the fantasy genre, a primary weapon choice for most of the characters within the genre. Utilizing that aspect of a fantasy hero’s arsenal, Nine Dots Studio has brought us an intriguing little title called Brand. With a focus on sword crafting as the main story element, Brand is an entertaining action platformer, though it does suffer from some slight design flaws, performance issues and lacks some extra polish that could have pushed it into a higher tier of the indie games market.

Brand now available on PC

Nine Dots Studio’s first game, Brand, launched on Xbox Live Indie Games back in February. PC gamers may have had to wait a couple of months for their version of the game but they can finally take their crack at powering up their swords. The game is available now.

While the XBLIG version met with lukewarm reviews, a fairly substantial patch helped improve the final product. It’s available at Desura at an introductory price of $4.24 (down from $4.99) and IndieCity for £3.00.
