MMGN.COM writes: What is the obsession with kart racing games? It seems that every developer under the sun feels that in order to make a successful spin-off series, they are required to put their characters inside a 150cc metal chassis and send them around a track in the sunshine. Sure, it was a lot of fun when Nintendo unleashed Super Mario Kart back in 1992, but twenty years later, enough is enough.
Even the biggest Xbox and PlayStation fans are jealous of Mario Kart. Thankfully, there are some decent alternatives for both camps.
As Astro Bot seems to be PlayStations newest mascot, the Petition for “Astro karts” starts here

Sony had the best one in Mod Nation Racers on PS3. That was a fantastic kart racer with great creation tools that allowed you to create/customize characters, vehicles, and tracks! Plus I liked that the game gave you the choice to expend power ups as either weapons, shields, or speed boost. It added an element of strategy not typically found in other Kart Racers. I would LOVE for Sony to bring that IP back!
The Mario Kart TAG Heuer Formula 1 Watch, a collaboration between TAG Heuer and Nintendo, is a blend of high-end watchmaking and iconic video game nostalgia.
Cool cool, can I get a plastic little watch that when you push a button you hear a "wahoo"? I can't afford to waste 4k on a watch right now, but maybe later.
The next wave for the Mario Kart 8 Booster Course Pass is upon us, with two new cups to be added for a grand total of eight maps. It's been a while since
mario kart is fantastic
If the game is good...then what's wrong with having more competition?
On a completely unrelated note...N4G really needs to ditch this ad with the screaming high school girls...
Guess what company that made that ad..It doesn't make me want to buy your shit. It makes me want to avoid you at all costs and make sure I buy from someone else.
Edit: I think someone's mad that we're not mad about more cart games...
we all have one disagree..
LBP Kart Racing was just recently announced. Journalist hate Sony, so lets make an article about too much kart racing.
I could be grasping at straws here - it's early in the morning :)
How about we ask that same question about FPSs?
I would worry a bit more about FPS than Karting games...
