It's short because Jeff Gerstmann wrote the UT3 PC review and since the PS3 version is mostly identical in terms of content to the PC version, they just linked to that review. The UT3 PS3 review mainly covers the differences between the two versions.

Agreed. The PC and PS3 versions are so similar that I don't see how you can give them different scores. Chalk that up to unprofessionalism on 1ups part (not to say that GS hasn't taken part in unprofessional activities, ahem K&L).

The graphics are much better on the pc.

The textures on the models you do notice that they have been lowered.

And they need to patch the mouse and kb support..... mouse smoothing is simply NOT there. I used a 1600 dpi wired mouse and a 1000 dpi blue tooh mouse same issue. It is much better when you shut off mouse smoothing.... but you still notice the chop.

I think they dont wanna put it up against call of duty's review score and every other FPS on the xbox. Cause gamespot is sponsored fully by xbox,, also other sponsors probably would get pissed off if it got a nine or higher cause most games have been getting around an 8 or lower. It would sorta be like a slap in the face to them. Also,, i can almost garantee that the UT3 xbox version will get a higher score, not because they think its better, but just because its on the 360. They get paid to do this people,, why do you think that Jeff Gerstman lost his job,, he got so sick and tired of corporate underhandings that he fliped out and got fired for wanting to beable to freely review games without having to worried bout losing the job,, then he lost his job for giving a credible score,, dont believe any of these reviews,, best bet is to rent games first if you have doubts,, also, id like to mention that i didnt realize the full potential of the game till after i played around with it , and found out what its really about,, you wont believe how much better it gets as you progress,, and i believe its because of the complexity of the game. It offers so much, Ive had the game for 4 days now, and still dont know how to utilize all of the equipment, gadgetry, and veichles. Anyone who doesnt like this game probably sucks at it,, and quit before they actually tried to find anything good about it. Like i said,, it took me a second to find the diamond in the rock,, but when i found it, but i did find it,, and its beautiful,
P.S. The nuke missile is the fukn sht! I cant get over how cool it looks when half the map gets blown to sht. It is a awesome site,, its almost comparable to the nuclear bomb on call of duty for,, seriously,, dont beleive me,, try it out.

Hmm.. Let's see, their negatives were:

Who wants to bet that if this game was on 360 they'd say "It runs great compared to other 360 games, with a few very rare hicups which will be fixed." And "User created content is not yet implemented, but we definitely need to boost the score because it's potentially a great feature."

And, when Epic does fix the lag and does get user created content, is Gamespot going to change their review? No, they aren't.

8.5 is a great score, but their review process doesn't make sense. If Halo 3 can get a 9.5 from them, UT3 shouldn't have a problem getting atleast a 9.

I have not experienced any lag at all. And sometimes I play on a server with say 120 ping.
Again, a noob reviews a great game. The mouse controls feel EXACTLY like a pc mouse and keys, so he's full of sh1t on that count too.
Between the XMB mouse sense control and in game mouse sense and smoothing, you can get it exactly how you want it.
This reviewer? A NOOB.

It's a good looking game but the color palette is really bland (dark, muddy/earthy colors). Nothing pops out really. Gears of war was the same way. I haven't messed with appearance options yet, so maybe you can make the game more vibrant and distinctive.

Without a doubt this game is the best deathmatch game on the console. Warhawk might be better at CTF and "objectives" gameplay but when it comes to frag fest UT 3 is the new king.

Unfortunately the PC style browser confuse a lot of technoidiot console users. They tend to join games with 250 ping then complain about lag...

Speaking of messed up reviews, Gameinfomer gave PC version of Gears of War an 8. Let's see the PC version has better graphics, longer single player, more multiplayer maps, more game types in multiplayer. So how does it get a lower score?????
