I bought GTA 3 on my iPhone 4s, and while it plays pretty good, I still wish I had an Xperia Play to play it with. Real physical buttons are simply priceless. You realize this when you're forced to use touch-only controls. Touch is fine when used in tandem with physical buttons (See PS Vita), but using ONLY touch controls like on my iPhone kind of sucks, imo.

I'll probably get whatever Xperia Play is out when I'm due for an upgrade again.

why complain when a new iphone is released every year. Car companies, computers etc release new products yearly. Look at how many samsung galaxies are out already on a shorter life span than the iphone.

I have an Iphone 4S and recently got the xperia Play, now i don't have the HTC but in my opinion the Xperia is the best gaming mobile hands down, not only does it have physical buttons but it plays Ps1, NES, Genesis?megadrive and Phone games from the store flawlessly.

Having real buttons will always beat touch screen buttons in my opinion. Especially for fighters.

i agree. i have a droid 2. not the biggest screen, but its powerful enough for a huge selection of emulators and once you get used to whatever button setup you give it, its great.
but the xperia buttons of course would be better

Spec-wise, Xperia Play is not even the best phone in the Xperia family, but it's perfect for gaming, especially emulators.

I like the way the hardware comparison ignores the graphics chip. It's not like it's the most important piece of info for gaming or anything...

And where is the GS2 or GN in that comparison?

Still, hardware buttons will always be several times better than touch only.

This is the best gaming phone available in my opinion (xperia play). Having said that and owning one there are some very strange flaws on the software side that will hopefully be addressed soon, not only due to the full Sony acquisition of Sony Ericsson, but also to the release and PS Suite and a more "unified" vision for sony devices.

This phone should connect to your psn account just like a psp/vita and run games like PSOne classics from the store: it doesn't.

This phone should be able to do remote play with PS3: it doesn't.

Other than that its pretty much an awesome phone, especially with something life fPse. Plut you can root it legit.

I have the ps store on my play though it's not really the ps store just has ps1 games on it, search online and u will find it

i have an xperia play and think its the best gaming phone around. like was said previously you cant beat using buttons for gaming the touch pad is ok but not precise enough.
I agree with SandwichHammock that you should be able to connect to your psn account (i really dont know why when it has some ps1 classic on it).
also the little round touch pads arnt very responsive and need to be calibrated better for games.
apart from that i would recommend this phone if your after another portable gaming device that just happens to have all the phone stuff on it. i'm sure the next iteration will be awesome.
