DIYGamer: The Japanese indie scene is finally making it’s presence known to the English-speaking world. Hot on the tail of Fortune Summoners, Nyu Media (who released Satazius late last year, with additional backing from Capcom) are gearing up to release a full trilogy of gothic-themed vertically scrolling shmups to all standard digital distribution platforms – Steam included, presumably – for $10. Cherry Tree High I! My! Girls! is the sequel to our popular slice-of-life adventure game Cherry Tree High Comedy Club by developer 773, and picks up the story where Cherry Tree High Comedy Club left off, but this time as a kinetic (non-branching) visual novel.

While the original was more of an adventure / social sim game, I! My! Girls! takes a more linear approach and tells the continuing story of the Comedy Club as a single story Visual Novel, providing around 3 hours of gameplay over 12 chapters. The sequel also uses the original Japanese names of the characters, instead of those used in the 'westernised' localisation of the original."
Indie doujin title Sacred Tears TRUE from Nyu-Media just received a fairly comprehensive demo on Steam with 5 story quests, 2 sub-quests, free-roam, and the ability to transfer your saves to the final game. With a unique take on the JRPG format, Sacred Tears TRUE is a game to keep an eye on.
