DIY: Final Fantasy XIII-2 Review

DIY: So here we have Final Fantasy XIII-2, a game that would probably do a lot better if it didn’t have the looming black shadow of judgment carried by its predecessor. There was a lot of hate for Final Fantasy XIII due to its extremely linear gameplay, the lack of character depth and a storyline that didn’t really understand what it was doing or where it was going, so much to the point that players found it hard to really care. So when the sequel was announced, it was hard to really see how Square Enix could turn this one around and pull something decent out of the questionable mess of the previous game.

For me, the same battle system means I won't bother with the game. I didn't like it the first time I tried it and I won't be spending $60 to see if it's better this time. Fortunately, Kingdoms of Amalur and Darkness II will hold me over until Tales of Abyss and Tales of Graces come out. And then Disguaea 3 for the Vita should show up. And - oh ^^ Xenoblade! almost forgot that. It would be nice to have a new Final Fantasy game, but I don't really consider XIII to be one of those.
