Top 10: Annoying Video Game Characters

WatchMojo writes: "All they do is annoy you, get in your way and ruin otherwise great games! Join WatchMojo as we count down our picks for the top 10 annoying characters in a video game."

TheUnbiasedLion4886d ago

I agree with the list to an extent but Hope > annoyance than Vanille and Moogle in ffxiii 2 > annoyance than hope.

Any charcacter that follows you in Skyrim they piss me off when they block doors!

Dovahkiin4886d ago

Followers in Skyrim, oh my god. Having to walk further into the room so they'll move from the door is very annoying, meeko just sits there looking at me.

young juice4885d ago

just run into them. it will push them outa the way

ShinMaster4885d ago

The main cast in Gears of War.

I don't understand the hate for Ashley in RE4

She was hardly with you for most of the game as she got kidnapped or taken from you so you could have those horror filled solo sections of the game thats the reason they made her get kidnapped over and over. The reason they didn't make her help out much is because she would of ended up like Sheva, a crappy AI partner who ruins the horror aspect of the game, least with Ashley you knew you still had no backup since she had no experience in combat, plus it also meant you had to take care of not only your self but her aswell making things more tense, I mean I got more game overs thanks to Sheva in RE5 then Ashley.....Ashley actually hides behind you as you shoot so it's impossible for her to get in your way.

What would you guys rather have in RE.....Ashley or Sheva, I already know my answer. To be honest, because of the complaints of Ashley I wonder if thats why they made Sheva and co-op in the first place.

SilentNegotiator4885d ago

She's a walking escort mission. That's why people hate her.

But I agree, Ashley is a lot better than Sheva.

I always liked Tingle.

Issun is never on any of these lists

HOPE D:
God I hated him...

torchic4885d ago

not only was Hope annoying, but he was soo fudging useless during the first few chapters. all he ever did was die.. never wasted my Phoenix Downs on him...

dorron4886d ago

I'll add Zekke from infamous 1 to the list. Zekke from infamous 2 was a good character. He redeemed himself.

Ex-Naughty Dog Dev Says Resident Evil 4 Inspired Uncharted and Many More Action Games

Former Naughty Dog dev says Resident Evil 4 inspired Unchartted and even Gears of War, particularly the over-the-shoulder camera view.

CrimsonWing6927d ago

It revolutionized third-person shooters, in a genius way that gives you full control of aiming.

CrimsonWing6926d ago

No, I mean RE4. Like the whole snap to over-shoulder and precision aiming was what I meant.

I won’t deny Winback does pave the way in some respect. But it’s not the same at all.

InUrFoxHole27d ago

Both are great series. That's awesome

Samonuske27d ago

I thought this was common knowledge. Resident Evil Revolutionised over the shoulder aiming in 3rd person shooters/action games

italiangamer27d ago (Edited 27d ago )

Influenced basically every third person action game made after it, GTA uses the over the shoulder perspective when shooting since the 4th installment, Red Dead Redemption 1 & 2 too and the Batman Arkham series has the over the shoulder perspective as the main camera throughout the whole game series.
Obviously there are a ton more examples but you get the point 🗿.

Simon's Quest is better than Symphony.

If you're gonna troll, at least make a legitimate attempt.

Levii_9236d ago

Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.

Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.

LG_Fox_Brazil35d ago

That's a pretty fucking great list

__y2jb35d ago (Edited 35d ago )

The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.
