February 2012 Video Game Releases: Playstation Vita Launch And Over 70 Games

February may be the shortest month in the year but in terms of video game releases, it may only be eclipsed by November this year. Not only do we see the launch of the Playstation Vita and a ton of launch games, we also get Resident Evil: Revelations on the 3DS, Twisted Metal on the PS3, Asura’s Wrath, The Darkness 2, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, and over 65 more games.

3DS has good software lineup right now as compared to the vita. But they did it for a span of 1 year.

To all vita bashers, its not a flop yet until we see its performance after 1 year. Yep, 1 year. For months, we all saw how the 3ds is labelled as a flop and look at what happened.

I mean medias alwys focusing on minor problems, but when it commes to talk about games hey, everybody is gone...

I can afford either a PS Vita and Uncharted: Golden Abyss or Twisted Metal, SSX, Mass Effect 3. It's tough because I like getting new consoles on day one, but I really wanna play the other 3 games.

While it may be true for the masses "the less popular game will be over looked" but to the core gamer (whom often reads video game news) will know what's up. We are the forefront for spreading the word on the lesser known games, we tell our COD loving friends that there are other great games out there. So to me its very much a positive thing to have many launch games. Because Uncharted isn't the only game I'm going to buy day one. Come on Feb.15th!

I'm getting a Vita. Not sure what what games I want. UnCh is a maybe, never played it before.

Uncharted is a no brainer, if you played Modnation on PS3 I'd recommend it, just be aware of the fact that there is no online multiplayer.

Rayman Origins is a great choice if you've never played it before, Hot Shots Golf is good if you want an easy, laid back game.

Best thing to do is wait until some review pop up but from the Uncharted import reviews, it rivals the PS3 versions.

I can recommend Uncharted, every uncharted has been an absolute masterpiece!
and then I recommend Wipeout, for arcade, long lasting fun, and you can start, play a lap, and finish. and so on.
These two games is also what I'm gettin the first month.
after that Gravity Rush for sure, the rest is still a "wait and see"

Remote Play is a nice feature. You can play games over wifi. So you can play games on your ps3 when your outside as long as the web connection is strong. Though there is a lag if you use it.

The launch lineup is more of a portable ps3 experience. Its still lack the handheld gaming experience (but I'm waiting for gravity daze and the inevitable monster hunter)

Okay, I have had enough of the constant console/handheld war of words. This is not go for anyone. If you start to bash one company for their products, then you just limit yourself to less gaming opportunities. If you embrace all types of gaming, then you automatically are a winner. I use my 3DS to play all of the Nintendo classics and new game franchises, while I will use the Vita for some great Sony games and new opportunities with the rear touchpad. Same with the 3 consoles.

Completely agree with you. However, I like the 3ds but I am waiting for them to release a revised version with dual sticks so I can play games like resident evil and mgs with ease.

Yes.
There is nothing wrong with choosing sides. Hell, you can even dislike a console or company if you want. But that doesn't mean your opinion is fact, so if you are going to be vocal about your stance do so with respect and understanding of/to others that may think differently.

I personally have little interest in most Sony games, and to be honest I actually dislike them (Sony) quite a bit. But I still understand that others have respect for the company and its games, with good reason. They aren't magically transformed into a horrible company just because I dislike them. They make good games and have a following because of that, and this is true of all the big game companies.

I hope Gravity Rush comes out in the US in February, but it seems that it is more likely for a May release. Also, he puts that Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations comes out on February 7th while amazon, gamefly, and gamestop have it listed for March 13th.

Only game that looks interesting on the Vita is Gravity Rush. Other than that, i can play all those games already on my PS3. Its more expensive than a PS3 and games will just be inferior, dumbed down versions, what would be the point? Unless you do not have a PS3 and do alot of traveling, there is no reason to get a Vita right now.

3DS on the other hand is backwards compatible, has much more going for it in terms of games and options. Nano Assault, Dead or Alive Dimensions, RE Revelations, Kid Icarus, Mario Kart 7, Shinobi, Starfox, Williams Pinball, Ace Combat, Super Mario Land, etc. No games, really?

Not to mention the 20 free games Nintendo gave us. Hell, i even got those games for free and paid $170 for my 3DS. People are just jealous and in denial. Look at how bad the PSP did. Meet your maker! Get over it guys!

February is crushing it! The Vita has a lot going for it. The economy is still lacking but with a great library at launch and robust hardware backing it, the Vita should do well. They will just have to keep up the momentum and quality releases. Mobile gaming like a boss...
