IGN: What is NFC and How Will the Wii U Use It?

IGN: Yesterday, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata informed investors that the Wii U will utilize near-field communication (NFC) technology, which it says can be used for a variety of applications, including micro-transactions for its upcoming online service, the Nintendo Network. We're unlikely to learn more about how the feature will be implemented until E3 in June, but in the meantime, let's go over the basics of NFC and a few educated guesses about what Nintendo has planned.

The story is too old to be commented.

the concept of it sounds a bit like the old infared connection on old mobile phones, if you wanted to send stuff through infared you had to be literally standing toe to toe to send it.

but of course nintendo's version will be way more hi-tec than that....

This was a podcast.
And you are shamelessly promoting it.

Don't click it if no one is interested in a subjective matter on the pricing of Wii-U

salinidus2453d ago

your point being, all said was that they are talking about it

ChickeyCantor2453d ago

Is that why you are promoting it in every article?
Don't worry, it's reported for spam. =)
