"Hero Academy is the new offering from Robot Entertainment (Orcs Must Die!) for an iOS device. It is an asynchronous (turn based) strategy game that can be played on the iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad for the great price of free. It does use a microtransaction model if you want more than the basic team (The Council), and if you want to get rid of the adverts. Even though the game is free it has a lot to offer up both the hardcore and casual player."

AR - Hero Academy combines ever popular asynchronous multiplayer with tactical combat. Does it succeed?
Hero Academy’s gameplay is simple and fun. The game begins with a randomly chosen battlefield. Some are basic grass squares, while others have different gimmicks that can be used to influence the battle.
GameWoof reviews Hero Academy from Robot Entertainment. This Android game is a good freemium title thanks to its deep turn-based strategy and fun asynchronous gameplay.
