Online play dropped from key PS3 launch title

Developer Neversoft has dropped online play from the PlayStation 3 version of Tony Hawk's Project 8, a key third-party launch title for Sony's next-gen console.

The developer has only recently received development kits for the PlayStation 3 and has not had time to implement online play ahead of the consoles' US and Japanese launch in November, according to an article on IGN.

Also online would make game any better anyhow.

That sucks bro. If some one was to do that to PS3 articles you would be mad. There is no need to hate like that.

I dont see this game has being a key launch title.

"Neversoft is confident the PS3 version of the game will ship at launch in November, but it still hasn't received all of the software libraries and has no indication of how the online components will work on PS3, so it's not offering them," detailed the report.

This scares me quite a bit.

How is a Tony hawk game a key launch game?It never was.

I don't think this is a key launch game (although it can be argued that ALL launch games are key, no matter what the system) but why wouldn't Sony try to support as many games as it could for its online service?

No matter if this game is the 8 billion installment of the franchise it still sells rather well so yes indeed it's a key title. However, I do not see online gaming for this title a big issue.
So all the 360 people will say doesn't matter if it's not needed it the fact of the matter... give me a break I'm a 360 owner and I have live and I have games that support and don't support. So in this sense do I spend more time on the live supported games? No I don't I play my 1 player games just as much.

The only reason this is an issue is because of all the hate sony and ms fans have for each other. Think about it Nintendo won't have online for the 3rd party people off the bat but that doesn't seem to bother people so why should this?
