Since the news broke last week about several well-known editors leaving their web sites to join Vox Media in forming a new site to cover the game industry, speculation has been buzzing. Fuel was added to the fire as Chris Grant made it clear they would be hiring away more people this year as their site (still in the works) plans to expand. The Atari VCS tries to do some interesting things but ultimately fails as a console and a PC alternative. It sets out to do some interesting things, but it doesn't do anything unique, and it doesn't do anything well. It definitely doesn't justify its price tag.
