The pacing in Rayman Origins is one of the game's best points along with one of its few downfalls. At the beginning of the game, you're going to be amazed at just everything you're doing. It's almost impossible to play through some of the game's platforming levels, then go right into a section where you're flying a giant mosquito and shooting at enemies gradius style, but as the game goes on, it loses a bit of its appeal. It continually introduces new mechanics, but they're all based on those you've already done in the beginning of the game, and this it can be a bit lackluster. The boss fights can also be underwhelming.
GF365: "These are our picks for the best side-scroller games on PC. The genre was popular back in the day, and these modern games prove the genre is still alive and well."
Ubisoft is giving away Rayman Origins for free and although it is a decade old, it is still one of the greatest classic platformer titles.
i think they should try to make a rayman 3D open world game for PS5 & Xbox Series X
Still waiting for an origins and legends successor. My wife and i were addicted to these games at the time.
Fantastic game. Have great memories playing Origins on the Vita.
I will say though, around 2/3s of Origins' levels can actually be unlocked in the even better Rayman Legends which you can find dirt cheap these days.
Legends has so much variety and those music levels are amazing.
Jacob S. from Link Cable Gaming writes: "“Not only does Rayman: Origins stay true to the franchise’s roots, but also adds its own unique features to help make its way to modern-day consoles.”"
Is disagree with the score. I own this game on PS3 and it's the best 2D Platformer I have played this year. The game is silky smooth 60fps in full 1080p HD just looks gorgeous. The level design is perfect, the game is challenging but never frustrating, the characters are hilarious, the nymhps are healthy, the boss fights are epically quirky and it's the truest Rayman title in years. 10/10
