In scenes mirroring a previous incident, a Flatout 3 developer has accused Eurogamer of 'lying' in its scathing 1 out of 10 review of the recent racing game.

Lol i love how gamespot, the site he mentioned, rated his game 5/10!

He's essentially trying to convince everyone that the title's mediocre, rather than terrible :P.

I'm glad these devs are actually accepting the titles rating the way they play to the consumer, but imho 1/10 is a pretty low review nowadays if you don't finish the game (after all, they gave DNF a 3/10 lol). Then again, there's a good reason I don't visit Eurogamer--their reviewers can tend to be random, ask for something from a game it was never going to provide (like the Uncharted 3 review, where the reviewer complained that the game should have been open world, showing how much he was dying to just play Skyrim lol), or just be plain unprofessional jargon (I could link 10 scenarios with community outburst from an EG review). There's been a lot of controversy at EG since they started reviewing like this, and while I respect and appreciate how they open up the industry to not suck the dick of every title and publisher on release, they don't have to have a tude' about it, and they really should finish playing the games before they review them (something they're famous for not doing). That way there's at least some credibility and anger that makes sense when they call the game crap.

"the reviewer complained that the game should have been open world"

He really didn't.

Read it again!
It is reworded over and over that the game is too linear, the game is too narrowly focused, the game doesn't allow us to explore, etc. Hopefully The Last of Us will bring the a more 'open' experience in a destroyed world. Only time will tell.

He said gamestar, not gamespot.

Detoxx4916d ago

Dude I thought it said "Fallout 3"... But what the hell is that game? A 1/10!?

Skynetone4915d ago

Edge also gave it a 1/10

how bad can this game be

fireplace4915d ago

Such a shame... I always liked Flatout.

Paragon4915d ago

It's just opinion, is what the dev needs to know.

... And it just so happens everyone's opinion is negative on him. :P

There are very few games that actually deserve a 1/10. An average title should be given a 4-6; if it's pretty buggy besides that, give it a 3, MAYBE a 2. A 1 implies the game was barely playable; though I haven't played it myself, I highly doubt that's the case.
