GamaGanda - Why the PS Vita sales drop is not something to worry about

Many major websites are already estimating disastrous sales for the US launch next year, demanding a price cut. It’s even on Forbes and this kind of mass hysteria is spreading fast. Let’s see if it’s really the moment to worry or it’s just that time of the year when news are scarce and everyone tries to squeeze something out of anything.

Because it's only in Japan, and Japan is not that big on Uncharted. Persona 4 The Golden is not yet out, even Gravity Daze. While the competition brought out 3 aces from their hand (Mario Kart, Mario 3, Monster Hunter). Final Fantasy XIII-2 was released in Japan. PSP is still being supported in Japan and Japanese still love their PSP.

Ummmm.......remember, Nintendo didn't have any of these 'aces' at launch. Their launch line up was terrible. Compared to the 3DS's launch line up the VITA's is much better. They have more games and they are scoring better too.

So I am not sure why people are leaping on this. The VITA just needs a few more games and some time to get it moving faster. Sony has sold most of what they stated that they shipped.As per usual the premature 'Sony is doomed' articles have started. Just like always,

the more popular Japanese stuff will come out soon in 2012, games like P4:G, Gundame, Tales, Dragons Crown, Ragnarok, weird Idol sims or whatever also FFX down the road

and uncharted GA is awesome! if people hate UC series on the PS3 saying that it's too cinematic focus, go play Uncharted GA! personally I think this is the best Uncharted yet! no offence to ND, but GA is just pure GOLD! 10/10!

the game play is actually better than U3?

that's not hard to believe seeing as how i find the 2 GOW games for the PSP better than GOW3

Fan of the series will feel right at home. But with the functionality of the Vita, the gameplay is more varied and best of all, there are so many things to unveil throughout the game with variety of puzzles and mysteries which is a total plus in my book. The game is the best to showcase the capability of the Vita with beautiful graphics, great and smooth control and you'll no longer be in doubt.

Best of all, Drake keeps all the charms from the previous 3 games with hillarious notations and one liners. The story is intact and it's simply the longest campaign yet. Makes you sometime doubt that it's actually a handheld game - I know I did!

Sounds so overwhelmingly awesome, right? Trust me, IT IS!

Everyone was buying 3DS systems out here in CA. Stores were selling out like crazy for Christmas! Nintendo timed everything just right. Vita is coming out too late. Its not doing well in Japan at all.

1.High priced memory cards
2. Need mutiple memory cards in order to switch users
3. Some games need memory card to boot up the game.

Blaming everything on expensive memory cards. Now that's just lame and isn't the reason why the Vita failed to sell as much as people hoped it would. Now these are the real reasons.

1. No MarioKart 7, SuperMario 3D land and Monster Hunter
2. The 3DS is a lot cheaper
3. Nintendo has a stronger brand name with handhelds than Sony.

Now you ask but what about the memory cards?

Oh wow they sold out especially the big ones. If those people didn't like the price of the cards they could have bought the cheapest one but they didn't. I guess games that are 30% cheaper online is a huge incentive for buying a memory card. Don't you agree with me?
